From the house of the Bluegrass Boy TommyCarioca (although he is in the witness protection program and in an undisclosed state at the current writing of this  Big Grin)  I've been curious about this Company for awhile and thankful for the generous gift along with others to come in future shaves. This is described as a nice Bay scent. I get a subtle but enjoyable lemony citrus. The lather was dry and airy at 1st start and as water was added.....slowly, I got a wetter but thinner consistency with bubbles and was afraid to push it any further and break it. It had a tendancy to dissipate as people say Modern Williams does but I got a nice enjoyable shave with it and I'm happy to be able to try this brand and quench my curiousity. Today some electrical upgrade work in the shave den bathroom is slated for accomplishment......Busy week this week.....everyone have a great day !

I enjoyed the commentary on this one and interesting to hear your thoughts on not keeping the Blackbird Ti. I was wondering, given all the razors you have probably tried, is there a vintage razor (SE or DE) you would recommend that provides an incremental increase in efficiency over the BB Ti, with the same or lower aggression? I generally think of aggression as the potential for injury.

Thanks, I'm not being a smart aleck but there are many that I can get as good or better shaves with. This is NOT to disparage the Ti Blackbird at all. Pics to follow of just a few I grabbed and thought to myself, yes this fits the bill of as good or better. There are others as well if I dug into the pile. Some of these are pricey (I got good deals on them all and all were cheaper than the Blackbird but might be hard to source as cheap as I did) with the exception of the ugly 50's Aristocrat (Not sure exact year) which shaves amazing and can be found cheap enough. In order of pics.....Gillette Executive (A DREAM to shave with for me), 30's Aristocrat pictured cased with the 50's Aristocrat uncased, Gratiot Krect Spiral Curve Slant and for SE's Schick Type O Clone which is IDENTICAL in every way so as to be made from left over parts or at the same manufacturer but without the Schick Stampings as far as I'm concerned (I owned both at the same time and compared them. I kept the Clone.

Thank you for taking the time to share these images and razors. Each of one those could send me down a rabbit hole. Smile I have been stalking a few different schick types on ebay but had not fully considered O and O clones. I will definitely revisit that. I have avoided pursuing vintage razors in general out of lack of knowledge in various models and handling. The BB Ti is a wonderful razor but I believe I am dancing at the edge of the efficiency envelope of that razor, at least for a couple of my most demanding regions. So I had been considering alternatives that might bump up the efficiency. Given the price point of some of the modern alternatives it feels like revisiting a compelling vintage offering could make sense.
