Great shave Dave! I love the huge variety of vintage razors. My face is fickle, and I usually end up getting in trouble trying new things like such. It's nice to live vicariously through your videos, though. Lol.

Regarding the Island Estate... You're lucky. I love (sweet) vanilla, but all I got was bay, spice, and it started to portray a Noxema-esque scent in the end. C'est la vie.

Enjoyed the video today. I feel like these vintage builds are going to pull me back in to the GEM format. I just sold off a Blackland Sabre as it wasn't getting a lot of use. I wonder if someone might share a vintage GEM that has been restored or replated in an interesting way. And I am always curious to hear more about how these vintage razors rank on efficiency and smoothness, relative to other vintage and modern offerings.

On the post, Thayers and Stirling witch hazel variants were my primary post care, as I was concerned about potential drying impact from alcohol. But, a while back i picked up an alcohol based splash, with synthetic cooling and witch hazel, from House of Mammoth (technically Chicago Grooming formula), as part of a set. Not sure I will be able to go back to Thayers or a pure witch hazel based solution with what feels like a more pleasing outcome from the alcohol splash.

Thanks for your support (views) and I think many of the Gems are great razors when proper angle and pressure are maintained. The Gem 1912 with a baton handle are a good one to try and pretty common and inexpensive on eBay. A good place to start down the rabbit hole Thanks for your thoughts on post shave as well.

Another SE Cheat day as I wanted to take my new to me Hoffritz for a spin. She cleaned up from the soap scum and hand oils of the previous owner just fine. Nice smooth shave with some quality products is a great start to the day for things around the homestead. Have a great day everyone !

I know your just funning I believe the reference is with regard to timing of production but not certain. I like it year round regardless.

Texas on Fire because it's a volunteer working weekend. Helping 2 others to help a women in Manchester, KY that has a big Pine tree blown over and pushing another over and close to her house (pics below) Looks to be pretty entangled since Pines tend to have branches like VELCRO. Since it involves trees/wood which can be used for campfires I came to the conclusion to use this set today. Have a stupid fun day everyone........I'm going to !
