Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,356

Perhaps you saw yesterdays debacle where the horse of a razor threw me after a couple bucks. I attribute it to a little unawake and a LOT the Blade choice (Shark Platinum) which is a blade brand fine in other razors but may have been a dud from the pack. I've heard they can be hit and miss.

To prove my theory I decided I should give the same razor another chance the next day with my injuries still in healing mode and see what happens. Some say that's pushing it but I wanted to prove my theory......and I can be stubborn too......

I debated it all day yesterday while the razor sat on the shelf mocking me.

I really had no more blood at the end of the video and the rest of the day and was just hoping if I shaved with it the next day and filmed it that it wouldn't reopen the wounds enough to be off putting again. Figured why not give it a shot.....

I knew I had used this razor before and while not the smoothest, it wasn't bad and gave a decent shave. Here's the follow up shave the next day......

Great comeback Dave.

After seeing today's, with one of your favorite blades and the razor dialed down a bit, I'm convinced Mark was right... there was probably some sort of issue with the razor. For it to not be as smooth, is so odd. Let's consider this: the other razor you have from this company, which is very similar in design is the 'basic' model. Yet that one is smooth. No way they made their 'deluxe' model, sold for more money at the tail end of the Great Depression, to be inferior?!

Again, glad you got your redemption. Have a great Sunday!

Thanks Paul, the Custom Shaver was from around 1937 and the other Shave Selector from around 1946 so it was no doubt and improvement on this model. I'm not convinced anything is wrong with the razor itself. A different blade wouldn't change geometry if damaged.

Next we’ll be seeing rodents of unusual size!!

Good job getting back on that horse, despite the horse being a bit of a jerk!  Yeah, cuts like that are almost always blade related or Pilot error. It’s funny how some blades are great in some razors and awful in others.

Beware
