And, yes, I will most likely open that bag now that I am down to just the one.  My razors work for a living!

Alright! An early Halloween gore movie!
Hope you mend well, Dave. I will watch and feel your pain later!

Ouch. Way to take one for the team in the interest of vintage razor demonstrations.  I’ve never had a cut from shaving that lifted a flap of flesh. Time for sutures. You never know with vintage and even modern razors bought used how they’ve been treated. They could have been knocked around and altered the alignment of various parts such that they don’t shave as intended. I picked up a coated Gillette Tech from Delta Echo a few years ago. It’s not useable. I don’t know if it’s been knocked out if alignment or the coating has changed the tolerances but it bites every time. The Tech isn’t a bitey razor usually.  I think Jay from Delta Echo must have bought up vintage razors in bulk to coat and stock for people who didn’t have their own razors to coat and he probably never QIed or shaved with any of them to see if they performed properly.

Thanks Mark, I used this razor once before I believe on video and setting 8 without issue. I really think it was the blade, me half awake or a combination of the 2......But all your points on vintage are valid points.

Just watched the anesthetic free procedure, I mean, the shave video, lol.
"I'm gonna live with that today because I want to live!" Great statement. It reminds me of Neil Peart saying (not sure if he was quoting someone) that when he's riding his motorcycle he is glad to be alive. And when he stops riding his motorcycle, he's glad to be alive!

I was very impressed that you applied that styptic pencil to two wounds and didn't flinch! If I use one under my nose, I almost always wince! Those Tabac shaves most impart manliness or something!!

Well said!! To me, quoting the Princess Bride is like playing an ace, and it "triple dog dares" anyone to do better, which cannot be done, IMHO!!

On a serious note, I hear you on the pain. My wife deals with a level that would probably leave me whimpering in bed. I have found for my arthritic joints and for some muscle pain, that Arnicare and Aspercreme are tops. It could also be from massaging as I rub it on, but it seems to give me better relief than eating a bottle of ibuprofen every month.

In any case, I very much appreciate your can do attitude. Makes me tell myself, "suck it up, buttercup!"
