Ignore the comments about a Stainless Steel one. The Razor Company has fixed the info on their site reflecting the ones coming are indeed Bronze as well. If you have one to sell, please contact me. Off to the BST with a WTB Listing.........Have a Great Day Folks !!

Thanks for another great video Dave.  The Razor Co info shows a 0.43mm gap and 0mm exposure, which leads me to wonder how aggressive the Athena can be.  Also, I noticed you going over the ghost lather near the end of the video, and you seemed pretty relaxed about it.  All this leads me to ask how smooth and efficient the razor is in your personal experience.  Do you see it as a potential daily driver?  A BBS slayer?

Daily driver capable is a yes. I wouldn't call it a BBS Slayer. With the right angle and maintaining it as it's a narrow sweet spot, it will give a close shave. Too me it was similar in efficiency to the H&S NO75 but smoother. Like I said in the video, no brainer shaving like the Rockwell 6S plate 5 for me for shaving but maybe more like plate 4 efficiency.

Thanks Dave.  I remember your comment about the 6S, but I did not put two and two together.  Anyway, your reply makes perfect sense to me, and FWIW it is what I was expecting.  It seems the Athena is a functional work of art, appealing both to the eye and to an engineering aesthetic many of us seem to share.  OTOH it is not a magic bullet - which is to be expected of course - and even though it will genuinely be a great value for some, at $229, it is IMO on the pricey side nonetheless.  For me personally, it brings to mind the verse from the (nonexistent) Shaver's Book of Wisdom and Enablement:

What to do?
What to do?
When in doubt,
Go buy two.

  Confused2

Flipping back to the serious, real world:  Thanks again Dave.

Yes, I'm on the fence with it at the moment myself and leaning to steering away unless things fall into place otherwise. Have a great evening Mike !

A pause and reflect shave before taking the HAVE to buy it attitude with the recent razor on loan. FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) taken out of the equation by using a $15 razor and getting the same quality of shave if not better. It may not be as flashy and new with the latest hype but it delivers the shave. Just goes to show you that the quality of the shave is not dictated by the fanciest or most expensive razor..........It's a matter of having your technique down and knowing how to shave. Time for some coffee and out the door for work. Have a great day Everyone !!

NOT SURE What happened to the video but she's gone.....sorry. Here's a pic..

I sort of followed you, Dave, opting for the Peerless Clog Pruf and a new blade. Not as mindless as my Damaskeene, but still close and comfortable!! And like you, taking what I given 'cause I'm working for a living!
