"you could hear that thing,...surely"
I did hear it, wow. And don't call me Shirley!   Tongue  Happy

You, Dave, are a brave man, trying that Dollar store stuff! In looking back, I attempted three separate times to use a brush and soap. The second attempt would have been in the early 2000s. I was divorced in living in a trailer in the woods of southern Maine. Not a van, and no river, but I had my fun describing it to folks!

It was a grocery store boar and soap, mostly likely the VDH stuff? I knew nothing, just memories of old movies or shows with guys swirling a brush in a mug and applying lather to their faces. I tried twice and threw it all away! Not pleasant at all, and just made shaving with my Mach 3 worse. Not as bad as that beaute you had there, but nasty!

For the curious, the first attempt was in the mid to late 80s. Remember this?

2015 is when I discovered traditional wet shaving had enthusiasts online in forums, and that products were available that were far superior to what I had tried to date. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Great shave save, Dave, and thanks for sharing it!

Yesterday was for the most part a low budget shave. Today took it to the other end of the spectrum and was just flat out luxurious. Reserving thoughts for another shave or 2 but Davey liked the .83 Aggressive Ti by H&S !! Have agreat day !
