Glad you are getting some shaves in, and I appreciate all your comments. I found it to have that "vacuum" feel that the Henson had in spades and which I wasn't a fan of, but the Overlander seemed to have much less "vacuum." (Sorry for the weepers! I get them from trying to rush or like you, too much chasing.
Hope the celebration get together is a blast!

Thanks Eric, I'm noticing that I didn't get as close without the chasing and this isn't one for me................that's a good thing. It will be for many but I'll stick with the CB Karve offering I believe. Happy2 Will get it back to you hopefully on Monday !

Agreed, I appreciate hearing your thoughts on the Overlander Dave. I'm glad it is working for you, so far. I'll be reading/watching to see the rest of your reviews as they come in. Edit: Scratch that... I just saw your update. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you in the end. Glad it wasn't a total bomb though. You definitely gotta use what does best for your skin.

I too chase the remaining whiskers too (too too!) much. It's one of my pet peeves - having anything left behind. The chase is usually what gets me in trouble with irritation, lol. So far the Overlander has been quite forgiving of this behavior, especially compared to other razors I've used.

One thing I haven't noticed was a suction feeling. Odd. I'm going to have to pay close attention next shave.

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful time with the dinner guests. Those interactions are golden these days, as we still work our way through this isolation period. Hopefully better times are on the horizon.

Happy Sunday!

Thanks Paul, I really think the angle the blade is bent isn't to my liking and why I need to keep chasing when I don't have as much trouble with a flatter held blade. Glad it works for you so well. I prefer the Original CB Karve myself. Different strokes and all, have a great day !

Glad to see your report on the Overlander in the video. I am quite satisfied with the CB, and it will help keep me true to my frugal commitment. Until the Henson Al aggressive comes out, or Colonial makes a run of their AC razor.

Razor: Karve SS CB "D" Plate
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Wolf Whisker Beehive
Soap: Ballenclaugh Honey & Tobacco

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1188

Decided to use my CB Karve today to see if my memory is gone or I'm on point.Yep, I haven't completely lost it. Took the same Wizamet from the Overlander and put in the D Plate Karve CB and had a great smooth shave with much better efficiency. I have no problem finding and maintaining the angle with this thing and much prefer it. I wish Karve success with the new offering and glad many are enthralled with it but the Original is my preference. We are fortunate to have the choices we do in shaving today. Use what works for you and have a great day !

Amen Dave. The choices we have, especially in the past 2-3 years, are amazing. It's great for consumer choice, and now everyone surely has the opportunity to get the perfect shave.

I love th Overlander, but I've debated the feel of a B with the efficiency of a D. I had A-C on the Karve Brass and my personal experience is that it's reminiscent of a C plate efficiency.

That's not to say if you try the C tomorrow, it still won't be better for you. But, if I had to make a wager, I'd say you'll find more similarities in efficiency between the Overlander and the C than the Overlander and the D. Just my 2¢.

Happy Monday! (can they really be happy, other than on a holiday? Lol)

It would be interesting to get a review of a side by side apples to apples (plate wise) comparison of the Overlander to the Christopher Bradley.

Mark, it's just my opinion but that would be difficult to do as I think the head geometry and how the blade is shaped/domed is different and is a totally different shave. I don't know who came up with the shaves like a B, efficiency like a D plate but I don't see that myself. I really don't think I'd compare it to any of the Christopher Bradley plates because it's comparing apples to oranges razor to razor at least in my book. You know how this hobby is with the YMMV. The Overlander is already in the wind and on its way back to Eric. Have a great day!
