My knot for the 86 S should be here today. It got "misdirected" and was up in the northeastern part of the state for a couple of days. It is a mixed badger and boar, called AP Luxury knot from AP Shave Co.

I was just posting that same thought in the DecemBoar thread... Great minds think alike.

I'll be interested in seeing how the badger/boar works for you. Definitely a lot less love for them than straight badger or boars. If you really like it, you'll have the beginnings of a Mixed-March (or May?). Lol.

I'll be interested in seeing how the badger/boar works for you. Definitely a lot less love for them than straight badger or boars. If you really like it, you'll have the beginnings of a Mixed-March (or May?). Lol.

I bought an SOC Mistura along with a Shave Forge boar off the BST somewhere. The Mistura really impressed me, so I am trying others. The Misturas from Semogue are 50/50 badger/boar. I have a Maggard mixed which is 70/30 badger/boar and it was too big for the Fluffy 86 S handle. It is in one of the Trotter handles now, Quasar I believe. The AP Shave Co bulb is billed as APLuxury bulb, but there is no description on the site. I have an email out to Andrew, more for curiosity than anything else.

Thanks Mike, my brush has a tad of green in a spot similar to Eric's MaineYooper I'm going to watch it and see if it gets worse and needs attention......

I recall Eric having the issue, and I couldn't find his solution post, so I just winged it when I reset mine to the boar.

I applied a bit of a spray acrylic sealer on the inside first, then applied a thin layer of silicone glue to the inside. After that all dried, I then set the knot as normal. Mines only had a test lather and no actual use yet. Time will tell if I need to find better measures.

Originally I was going to use a clear nail polish. Unfortunately, the wife and daughter didn't seem to have clear anywhere I could find.

Here is the link to the page regarding my 3 percent solution (tip of the cap to S. Holmes!)

Drug store hydrogen peroxide, soak for a short time, to be safe. I only did the base, and I had the knot standing up in a bowl or cup of peroxide, enough to cover the stain.

I may have left it overnight, but I can't find any notes, so please use caution for how long.

I used super glue (CA) to coat the inside of the socket.
