When my younger brother is not traveling the world for his work he has a side gig moving docks in and out for the Rich and famous. He had a dock that was stuck and asked if I wanted to go for a ride on the lake and help him so I made an executive decision in postponed my work for a bit!

The dock has been freed and is off the rocks and in the water. Back on dry land and if I can get back to my truck, I'll be able to get back to work for myself and actually try to accomplish something. The things we do for family!

Kind of reminds me of the boat in Jaws! Any time on the water, in about any craft, is always a pleasure for me. When I first moved to Maine, and was teaching in the Kennebunkport area, I hoped to make friends with a family that were lobstermen, and go out in the boat with them. Then I read the firsthand account by Linda Greenlaw (who captained the sister boat in A Perfect Storm). She writes of the monotony of going round and round in circles pulling traps, and the aches in the hands an joints. My hat is off to the men and women who harvest seafood for us!
