Thanks, Dave, I appreciate hearing that regarding the Journal. I forgot! And thanks for the kind words. I think we both have a lot on our shoulders, and this "hobby" is an awesome relief valve. I suspect, from posts, that many others also are dealing with issues and life, and are in a similar situation. At 56.76 years old, I now I couldn't keep up with you or Ken! Too soft, too much "white collar assembly line) work! Which is why too many sweets (I am one large sweet tooth!) will be like

Like you Eric. I too have a sweet tooth. Fortunately I have a modicum of self control. Once in a blue moon. I treat myself to a half gallon of ice cream. Then make that last a week or so. The rest of the time I have a few cookies for dessert. Portion control is how I usually keep things under control.  With the heat and work this summer, plus cutting back. I am down about 15 pounds in the last 2 plus weeks. Why you ask. Because my fat ass couldn't fit in my motorcycle leathers.

Now you make me laugh with that post! 15 lbs! Way to go!
Portion control for desserts is what I lack. And the idea of copying my wife, who with her issues struggles to keep weight. So I sympathy eat with her, and that isn't good for me! She is understanding my issues with foods lately (that is my issue of late. She always is understanding!), so isn't upset when/if I don't partake in a big bowl of ice cream nightly!

Razor: Roller Guard Razor
Blade: Shark Platinum (5)
Brush: Trotter Handcraft Maple
Soap: Strop Shoppe Russian Tea
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Proraso Green Splash
Fragrance: Paco Rabanne 1 Million
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 985

There was some discussion of Roller Guards and it reminded me of my Roller Guard razor. The company made a Roller Guard to use with Gillette Old Type razors that came in a Green Box seen in the pic. I had one and sold it in a moment of weakness......
They also produced their own razor Called the Roller Guard Razor and I was able to get one of these some time back. The spiral guards do in fact roll as you shave and are quite comfortable. I find the shave with this razor VERY mild and requires putting more pressure than I'm willing to to get as close a shave as I like. I need to try the guard on an old type to see how it does at some point. Close comfortable shave and love the Russian Tea scent that evokes some memories for me. Wish a modern soap maker would do this scent in a better base. It's MONDAY.........TRY to Have a Fun Day Folks !!

I find the same, the Roller Guard is like the flip of the French Perfector (which makes Old Types more aggressive), it's too mild. I think I found one razor where I thought it was usable but can't remember which it was (it doesn't fit my iKon Tech as I recall).
