35! What a great thing! Congratulations to you and your Wife.

Speaking of Bourbon, a couple days ago I bought my Father a bottle of Eagle Rare.

He had never tried Eagle Rare. Hard to beat that one in the $30 - $40 range (IMO).

IMO Eagle Rare is a great, undervalued bourbon.  I regretted the day that the Virginia ABC stores stopped carrying it.

Woot woot! the Return of the DSotM!!  It is looking very well, and that knot is looking pretty fab as well. Boar? Cashmere? I embiggenated the photo, and I still can't tell 
Either way, lookin' good in the 'hood (which is looking very green. Beautiful shot!)

Looks like a synth cashmere to me. I'd imagine a boar used more than once would look 'scruffy'.

Thanks Eric, it's a Cashmere as Paul below said. I didn't address the crack as I felt any attempt would do more harm than good. Just set the knot, Thanks again

Looks like a synth cashmere to me. I'd imagine a boar used more than once would look 'scruffy'.

Happy early anniversary. 
35 years is an achievement that you both should be proud of.

I tried the Red Tail yesterday.
I didn’t get a good lather from it, but I like the scent.
Gave up and tried some Mikes Pine and Cedarwood.
Wasn’t happy with that lather either, but it got the job done.  (Great soap tho.)
I’m guessing that it was the ridiculously hard water that we have here.
From what I can tell, the county water boys just suck some water from the Mississippi, pull out a few of the bass and leeches and hook it up to my bathroom faucet.
I get lazy with using the distilled water, cause it’s harder to warm up than hot tap H2O.
I’ll try again with distilled and get back to ya!

PS I got the same with the London Bridge blades.  Meh.

Revisited the Red Tail today…with some distilled water.
What a difference!  That really is a fine soap.  I do like it!
It feels like a synthetic slickness, not like tallow or like PAA CK-6.
Not in any way bad, just different.
When you get the water correct, The Red Tail gives up a very nice shave.  
Finished it off with some Knize Ten AS and I’m feeling that the World, maybe, isn’t such a bad place!

AWESOME, I was surprised when you said it wasn't a good lather. SO happy you had a better experience with it 2nd time around with distilled water.
