Well my shave today was nothing less than STELLAR !! This razor is the King of the den for me for sure and may have me second guessing why I need ANY other modern DE razors in the den. I'll always have the vintage to play with and have variety but if I just want the perfect shave this is it. It's probably the only razor I wouldn't loan out as I don't want it gone for any length of time. Big shout out to Pete Patriot for being so kind to loan me his before he was thinking clearly. Post Office is still forwarding his to his new address last I heard and hope it gets there safely soon. Thanks JimmyH who included a tuck of my favorite blades as well with the razor purchase. The Baron's Choice may squeak out 1 last shave tomorrow from the tiny pieces left. I think I know the next 1508.5 Project but will re-evaluate before naming it just in case I change my mind. Have a great Weekend Folks !!

Dave I'm happy to read you are that enthusiastic about the razor. The first thing that came to mind was a guy called himself 'Leisure Guy' on the forums. Back in 2007 when I first started reading shaving forums he posted YMMV. It is different strokes for different folks for sure.

I started shaving my face in about 1963. No one ever taught me, I watched my Dad with his Gillette whatever it was, and just followed suit. I remember a friend, who got me into the shaving forums, and the sport, telling me he did 3 passes. I was bewildered. That was at the end of 2006 and I had been using the double blade Gillette 'Good News' disposables for a decade.

One ATG pass with a shaving brush and hand soap because I figured that was good enough. So I've come along way, learned a lot, but the hell of it is ... @ 72 years old, shaving for 58 years, I still haven't got it figured out.  Rolleyes

Wowza! Sounds fantastic! Can I try it out?! JUST KIDDING! take a breath, lol!

It’s seriously so cool reading this from you. You did very well, and I am very pleased that you love the razor.

And leisure guy's book, man, I don't know how many times I read it and used it as a reference back in 2016.

So it was decided I didn't feel like chasing the pieces of Baron's Choice around the bowl. Called it done and have free shaves till July when I will start the next 1508.5 for this year. 3 soaps down so far for this year. SV 70th is just an intoxicating scent and my face always feels so fresh and alive after using it. Another shave with the Blackbird Ti before trying other new to the den hardware. Couldn't decide which pic to use so included both. Feel free to vote on which a should have used. Have a great day folks !!

Both nice photos, but I like the first, as it shows how big the brush knot is. Have a great day and congratulations on finishing up another tub!

I’d go number one as well! Now you’ve inspired me to break out the 70.
