No shim and loaded with a Schick B20. The handle screwed in holds the blade on the non-adjustable models. You even get some adjust-ability as far as exposure.

It was a BIN sale which doesn't mean he couldn't have changed his mind about it. On the other hand I went looking for my Penn Adjustable last night and couldn't find it...

Haha it hasn't left the house. I'm pretty sure it didn't get left in California when I moved, it's just that I have a lot of razors not exactly organized in alphabetical order.
