Funny, you never know. I am careful about watching my weight and have been consistent for probably 5 years now. Be happy to lose 10-15 lbs but I keep it in check and feel I'm in good shape for 57 Wink

Razor: Wilkinson Sword Pall Mall
Blade: Gem (1)
Brush: Rubberset 400/Cashmere
Soap: Baron's Choice 1508.5 Project
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Ethos Fresh Lime
Fragrance: Ethos Dragonsbeard
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 925

1 of the razors from a recent Lot purchase was this Pall Mall that cleaned up well and they don't make them like these tanks anymore. Solid and functional art. Loaded with a modern Gem blade until I can get some of these and the Empire blades honed to use. Got a nice enjoyable and comfortable shave. Just a little grab on the chin from relaxing my skin stretching but sealed quickly at the end of the shave. Glad to get this set with the others to try also. Menlo pass around razor is heading this way in the mail for I believe tomorrow so that will be up for Saturday I think. Have a great day guys and gals !!

Razor: Menlo Nealon Razor
Blade: Wizamet (6)
Brush: Teton "Bob Ross" Brush
Soap: A&E Grecian Horse
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: A&E Grecian Horse
Fragrance: Penhaligon's Opus 1870
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 926
Video in my Journal Thread

I had a GREAT shave with the Nealon by Menlo today. Just a few weepers that sealed after applying the A&E Splash but ZERO irritation. I think ALI nailed it in saying the shave is VERY similar to the ST Stirling Head. This is an aggressive razor that has a nice smoothness too. While it has these characteristics it isn't a fit for me as I shave daily and have no need for one in this category. Those looking for a razor to take down more than a days growth efficiently while maintaining smoothness will be wanting to look at this one. Video with details.

So . The Penn razors' history is intertwined with the Mark Cross.

By their own admission the only way that Mark Cross could have continued to sell their razor at a low price was to profit from blade sales. Whether blade production continued past the introductory period for the razor is unclear, but within a year another company, AC Penn, was targeting Mark Cross owners, offering compatible blades and a new razor, the Penn Dollar Razor.

Before forming his own company, Penn had headed the Enders division of Simmons Tool, the primary distributor of the Christy patented razor. Patent for the new Penn razor was awarded to Greenbrier who had also collaborated on patent applications for the Mark Cross.

The Penn Adjustable would come in 1919. Around that same time an associate of Penn patented another adjustable based on the Mark Cross with adjustment on the handle bottom rather than the head. This never materialized.

The Mark Cross set I won recently got Lost in the Flood before getting to me. Not real happy about that. The Penn razors can be shaveable with some fancy shimming but I gave up before getting there with mine.

No shim and loaded with a Schick B20. The handle screwed in holds the blade on the non-adjustable models. You even get some adjust-ability as far as exposure.
