Ken Fluffy and Dave Dave in KY I've a question for you both (although this could lead me to yet another rabbit hole): How easy or difficult is it to set a knot? 

The mechanical and craftsman genes of my Dad bypassed me entirely and all ended up with my brother. (during my early adulthood I endured hours of torturous teasing about actually paying some one to change my oil. Oh the scars.) But reading posts by Dave regarding setting knots to his liking made me think, OK, while I can't turn a handle on a lathe, I think I could set a knot, especially if it is "easy" to redo if I foul up the depth or something.

The previous life teacher in me would like to request a report on knot setting. But I'd be happy with just the basics like what adhesives do you use, how is clean up, and the any other pearls of wisdom (for whatever reason, in my profession "they" refer to tips as "pearls of clinical practice," which just sounds pretentious! Teachers are more honest and often say things like "I stole this idea from someone at a conference last year"!)

That know that Ken posted a pic of is a beauty, and some of the handles I have seen have me wanting to get a really nice handle to put my favorite knots into.  I think my 26mm and 30mm SynBads are the bomb, but the handles are so plain when I see the eye candy handles around here. (Here comes that deadly sin, covetousness!) (OK, I shouldn't make to light of deadly sins. I am trying to acknowledge that this is just a want. Coveting, greed, jealousy, and the like make you miserable and unable to appreciate and enjoy what you do have, and can turn nasty if left to fester. Sermon over!)

It's not hard Eric, I just use a marine grade waterproof silicone which makes a nasty mess if you get it on things and fingers etc so I am very very careful. The plus side is it's easy to pop it out and redo it if need be. If I'm able to do a video of resetting this one I will which will be easier to watch than to try and explain it in text.

Sounds good, Dave. I don't think I'll be doing anything like that soonish, but who knows? I didn't think I'd be jumping into SE razors, either, and now I am like a pig in slop!

I almost guffawed out loud, but managed to hold it in and cleared my sinuses at the same time!

It will be my first re-knot as well. So I’m not going to be of much help. I was going to PM questions for Dave in KY cause I like to keep the illusion that I know “stuff”. 
Also the resident brush meister Smattayu may chime in with some “pearls” of wisdom. He’s the one that recommended that I go with the AP knot. 
And I trust his judgment/opinion.  I love the look and feel of the Razorock 400 handle but as of the late the knot has left me wanting. I almost went with a Cashmere knot to replace it. But Badger seems more old school.

Ah, then I will be in good company if I decide to set a knot! As far as knowing stuff, I tend to be talkative when I know folks, otherwise I tend toward being an introvert. But talkative leads to "a fool is known by his many words". Credit to Solomon, I believe, for that pithy proverb!
