Arko or Colonia?

It's been a while, but I'm fairly certain Arko is an all around good performer... Lather, protection, etc.. it's just the scent that drive people away... Tell 'em Moe! Lol.

Honestly, I don't think it's that bad, but I'd absolutely be lying if I said I couldn't smell the resemblance. [Image: giphy.gif?cid=349c9dd7p0w0prajessoalpfdx...=giphy.gif]

I'm sure it was just me not knowing what to expect in the citrus colonia scent. I thought it would be more rounded with other citrus rather than lemon-forward. But that's just me and I'm no professional. So this shouldn't stop anybody from getting it obviously and I'm happy I did because I want to support Frank as well as the Forum here that I love at DFS as should all of us. At least you're able to voice and honest opinion in a respectful way here without the retribution of being banned like at The Cadre........ This is exactly the reason I was banned from there.
Absolutely Dave. Frank is an awesome guy and makes some marvelous product. I was just having fun with the age old Arko jokes.

Up at 4 am (IKR? Ewwww) But have a long day of driving to get my stepdad to the VA for a follow up to his heart surgery last week (AV Nodal Ablation and a pacemaker) Basically in layman's terms they burn the arts of the heart that signal your heartbeat so it won't any more and then add a pacemaker to tell your heart to beat but at least it will be regulated and not race to 170 whenever it decides to. This surgery is a last resort surgery for when meds and other surgery's wouldn't work. Seems to have helped so just his follow up appointment. Hr drive to him and 3 hours to the VA and then I reverse it to get home. Not complaining as I'd do ANYTHING in my power for this man. On to the shave which is Wool Fat today with the King C. Gillette. Did we all hope Gillette would do something more like they did in years go by? YES !! Did we think they would in today's business realm do it the way we wanted? NO !!!!! And they didn't disappoint us. Just a stamped out copy of others and a basic mild shaver but it gets the job done. I find the handle slippery, so I usually........................I say usually but this is probably only the second time I've used it. I used a Carbon R2 Handle so I had some grip. Easy shave for when you're half asleep. Topped with some Vetiver that I don't think will annoy someone in a vehicle with me for hours. Who knows maybe I should hit something hard like Spicebomb just to see if I can get him to ask me every few minutes, "Are we there yet?"  Big Grin Hope everyone has a great day and for those that are dealing with aging parents and the stresses of caring for them, Hang in there and stay strong. I know you remember how many sleepless and stressful days/nights they did the same so you could breath and enjoy life as you are now. That thought keeps us all going. Have a stupendous day Everyone !

Good luck with your stepdad Dave.  Being an only child, it fell to me to shepherd both parents, and it can be taxing in a variety of ways.  They insisted on spending the final part of their journey in God's waiting room (aka "Florida"), and I would do what I called The Jet Blue Boogie - a thousand miles each way.  My mom would begin certain phone calls predictably - it made Barbara and I laugh:  "Now don't worry ... Everything's alright ... But they just put daddy in the ICU, and you know I don't drive."   It was after one of those calls that I was sitting in Dulles airport, waiting for my flight, and I had just hung up from calling my mom.  In my mind, this was nothing out of the ordinary, insofar as I was just doing what a son or daughter ought to do.  So it took me by surprise when the lady next to me - a stranger, and much older than I was - leaned over, took my arm in her hand, and said in earnest tones "You're a good son!"

Well Dave, you're a good son!  I hope your stepdad pulls through in smart fashion.

Thanks for the kind words Mike and also telling how you cared for your parents. my wife was an only child and so I've lived near her parents to help care for her dad's failng health and her mom who has dementia. An hour away from my parents where my work is is close enough to check on them a couple times a week and help with whatever is needed. And that I won't get into the details but my wife has her own health issues and since sometimes you feel like you got all these balls in the air you're juggling and trying to keep them moving in synchronization. As long as they all keep juggling properly we can keep up with it LOL
