Kudos to Joe for accepting the offer of a sample of Sweet Orange Chili Pepper which brings this project closer to completion. I owe ya man ! Nice lather and another successful run with the Blackbird. 2 passes and on the 2nd pass I was being careful around yesterdays scar catch and I could feel it slightly try to catch it where it did yesterday. 3rd pass on the neck and some overall touch ups and called it a win. During the shave I was thinking, I don't need this razor as I wouldn't use it much. After the shave and feeling it's efficiency I was thinking maybe I should get it after all. By the end I had concluded the experiment done. I will get this back to Eric with much gratitude for the chance to use it. Final thoughts are it is an amazingly smooth shaver if you pay close attention and will reward you for that. Stop paying attention and she is a cruel mistress that will bite you and hard. I can shave with it but prefer relaxing near mindless shaves that can be had with similar or better results with other tools. Thanks again Eric.

Got another dusting of snow overnight that is supposed to transition to rain today so the closer to 3 inches than the 6 that was on their upper end guesstimate will be gone at some point today I presume. Don't think we got the ice they thought would accompany the snow and rain. Have a great day everyone !!

Hey Dave, glad you got to try it out and see what you think. I wonder if the Ti version would be smoother, but I don't wonder enough to order it. I found that my polished Karve seems smoother than I recall, and tempts me to even more carefree abandon while shaving. I am in agreement with, how did you put it, "but prefer relaxing near mindless shaves." The last two days, I have used a Schick adjustable, and I dialed it down to 4 today, and had a relaxing, close, and comfortable shave. Years ago, someone on some shave forum used the acronym RCS as his standard, a Really Comfortable Shave. He stopped trying to determine DFS, BBS, +/-, etc and made up his own acronym. I adopted it and for me, it includes the closeness that I want. If I can get that closeness AND have comfy, near mindless shaves, than it gets tagged RCS. [I should repost this in my Journal so I can find it easier!]

No rush getting it back to me. I will most likely sell it to help fund parts and pieces, like for my Yates! Hope your day goes swell!

I hear you Eric. Mailed after I took an hour to shovel the driveway to the bottom of my hill and left for work. I'll message you the tracking now.

Oh my gosh, that is a long drive! And an hour, you must have looked like Steve Austin working at bionic speeds!  I decided the year we moved here that I would pay to have someone with a plow do our drive!

^^ this is the drive we slid down, doing 360s, after an ice storm and your's truly decided, after taking 2 attempts to get up the slope and finally making it, decided to back up a little to re-align to enter the garage! Both my wife and I were cussing up a blue streak as we slowly went down and around. She was worried we were going to get wrapped around the trees on the right, I was worried about going over the embankment on the left and possibly rolling. But we ended up at the bottom, sideways, with a tree about a foot or so from both the back and front bumpers. I got to do a 20 point turn, back and forth, and then back up and try again, this time leaving the car outside of the garage! and to add to the madness, you could see the sand we'd paid for UNDER the ice!!

Yours was sheer madness. ours was only 3 inches and a wet sloppy one I could just push one side and then pushed to the other side of the driveway working my way down it. probably would have melted before I get home at 8:00 tonight but I figured this would give it a chance to perhaps dry up some in case the temps below freezing expected tonight prevented me from getting up it again.

I am totally impressed with you guys. I have never shoveled snow from a driveway in my life. Besides, I subscribe to the Tom Sawyer method of getting friends to help with chores.

I must say that I agree with you regarding the Blackbird. It does not provide a mindless shave.  You have to pay attention.

So I went in yesterday to work by noon after clearing the driveway of the white stuff and worked till 8 when I drove home (with more white stuff flurrying) so I have today off = GREAT. Yesterday while working my wife texted me and asked why when the Washing Machine drained water came up in the shower = Not Great. My conclusion without being able to be there and physically inspect is it's time for the septic tank to be pumped = slight inconvenience. Calling pump guy and being told they haven't been working due to the weather and I'm number 8 in line and it may be some day next week = MAJOR inconvenience. Asking who he recommends and being told the other guy is in the same shape = Monumental Inconvenience. Oh well, what are you gonna do. Improvise and overcome is all you can do at this point. So that brings me to the shave for today. We can remain civilized after all, can't we.Since we can't have water going down our drains and bringing nasty stuff up other drains, I used a basin filled with water that I set in the sink. A 2 pass Shake Sharp shave was had with the products listed above and I'm ready for my coffee and a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffin until it gets daylight and warmer to inspect more closely and confirm my suspicions of the problem. Then I'll call him back and give him "what for" telling him that he needs to get off his lazy butt and go to work and quit allowing a little cold weather to slow him down and the wheels of prog........................................who am I kidding. I'll either call him and beg him to come pump the tank or wait patiently. What else can ya do. We have our necessities. Too often we are spoiled and take for granted that switches when flipped will provide electric lights, cooking, heat/air etc. Water taps when turned will provide us clean water and drains will take it all away. Being prepared for when these things fail (because the will and do) and improvising to function is all you can do at that point. Have a great day everyone, I'm going to !!
