A few years ago, I slid down my driveway, with the CR-V slowly spinning in circles. And to add insult to injury, we could see the sand that was laid down earlier UNDER the ice.

Milk has it worse than us here this time !

Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline (?)
Brush: Rubberset 400/Oumo Boar
Soap: Lakewood SOCP (1508.5 Project)
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Anthony's Authentic Barbershop Bay Rum
Fragrance: Penhaligon's Sartorial

Back to the grind with the 1508.5 on steroids which is basically now 4 days a week with Weds a Williams Shave, Friday and Sunday are whatever I choose. When this is done I think I may whittle the den down to close to half again on soaps with a den sale of soaps and some aftershaves and Frags thrown in too. I'd ideally like everything to fit comfortably on the 3 shelves in the shave den again. I could change my mind but I'm at a point I want variety but I don't need every new thing that comes along and so may reduce to just the ones I know I will gravitate to on a regular basis. Picking a soap to use until gone just kills the joy of getting whatever strikes me that day. Why put myself thru having to use the same one, for a month or more just with the idea of using it up so it's gone when I can get it gone by selling or pif'ing it. Just random thoughts at the moment. I may start making a separate pile of things I'm considering and let the idea stew for awhile. I had been thinking this for awhile but today going back to my much loved Vector it had me thinking about the same deal with razors. At least modern razors that perhaps I should just keep maybe up to 3 of each category of moderns and just the vintage I enjoy using. Okay that's it "everyone get out of my head. You've been subjected to enough of my random thinking for a day. I had an amazing shave with the Vector and topped off with some great juice. Have a tremendously fun day Guys !!

What a great write-up Dave - wisely thought through, and seasoned with a big dose of common sense.

Great write up and I get the thoughts, having had them in the past and starting to again! I get unsettled feeling when I have too much (for me), worrying about am I using something enough and sometimes not enjoying what I am using because I am planning what to use next. Almost like I have to keep an equal use tally. I probably need to bring this up at my next thereapy session! (only poking a little fun here, therapy is good and I really do see someone for helping me keep my mental health and life in better shape)

Like you Dave, I too have accumulated an abundance during these last few months, especially soaps! Time to whittle things down to what I enjoy using, not just holding on to things to avoid selling at a loss.

Nice write up Dave.

I cycle through a lot of gear myself, but like the idea of a smaller, more focused collection. Less is more!

I’m now down to a 10 razor rotation... still have a pile of stuff to move in the BST though and things don’t seem to be selling like they use to.

Hey, just be sure to save a small space for a Trotter Handcraft Brush and a bottle of Pre & Post Shave Toner! Smile

I have to add my agreement to these replies ... Definitely some good ideas you are brewing.

I'm like MaineYooper in the fact that too much gives me an unsettling feeling. Especially if too much equates to clutter. I like neat and orderly.

That said, I agree with you sooooo much... I can't do a 3017 (or whatever you want to call it). The variety is what makes this a hobby and not a chore. Maybe not 100 ( or 1000) soaps, but a sensible number where I can choose based on how I feel that day. If you liked a soap enough to buy and keep it, why try to get rid of it as fast as you can? Do you look at your wife and go, "I love her so much, so ... She needs to move out."? Lol. I hope not.

Have a great day Dave!

There will always be room for those things with sentimental attachment which is a group they fall into Paul. Thanks
