This lot came in with the 2 razors I wanted in MUCH better condition than pictured. The Senator even had a card from Back Roads Gold showing it was Mirror Plated on 6-15-2021 that I didn't expect. Messaged him and he said he made the card for it when He shipped it as it had been sitting after getting done. Going back to check the listing and it was none other than Chris Spencer of BRG that sold the lot. I should read more than I do as I normally just go over the pics thoroughly. Win-Win this time for sure !

I shared your 1508.5 with a friend on another forum, and he liked that idea and is going to give it a go this week! I am doing my version of it so that I can compare new soaps to my reference soaps.

So, I haven't posted about TDSoTM Brush as I was waiting on knots from APShave Co. I ordered a Cashmere and Silk Smoke both 26mm Bulbs. When they arrived I was disappointed in the under sized Silk Smoke Knot and the Cashmere sent was a Fan instead of a Bulb that was ordered. Also the glue Bump in the Silk Smoke was VERY pronounced and made for tough splay and I like splay in my knots.

I messaged them and was told he was sorry for the mistake on the Fan and would fix.  His response about the Silk Smoke was as follows:

"Happy to refund you for the SilkSmoke if it’s not to your liking. There is a bit of variance with the vendor +/- 1mm of the spec diameter and there is a bit of a bump. It’s always a tradeoff between backbone and splay with the bump, this knot is meant to be densely packed with less splay for good backbone"

I opted to keep the Silk Smoke although not happy with as any other I ordered would no doubt be the same and I like the color, I'll try it somewhere. I asked how to exchange the Fan and he said keep it and he'll send the Bulb for me. Good customer service. Still disappointed in the Silk Smoke size especially when the Cashmere arrived but I guess it is what it is. These are the SAME SIZE knots 26mm and I don't see how a  +/- 1mm difference in core translates to this stark a contrast in bulb size..........

So I have been on the fence whether to try the Silk Smoke which I feel in person doesn't look as good in this handle or go with one of the Cashmere's or to order a Timberwolf which looked good. Frustration has had me push pause for now. Just wanted to update why there hasn't been any progress. I do feel that the handle will be fine if I just set a knot in it as is. The crack isn't noticeable. I feel if I pull it apart enough to apply a glue/epoxy that it will cause more harm than any good that would come from it. I will get to it eventually as I like the handle and especially it's name. Thanks again Eric MaineYooper and sorry I haven't got it to completion as yet.

Yikes, that sucks Dave. Looks like it's bulb troubles all around this weekend.

I just ordered a Silk Smoke fan knot to replaced the crappy SmilezforMilez knot. From the reviews I read, the fan is a different animal and splays a lot better. So I'm skeptical, but I have reason for hope. Lol.

I am absolutely with you. I like a certain look for a brush. That's why Im in the same situation regarding knots. Hopefully you can figure something out with the Silksmoke. Have you tried spacers? I've been setting my brushes with 2 spacers (quarters) as of recent. So far it works well for me to get the splay I like. Wonder if that would help the Bulb SSmoke?

Regarding the Cashmere... I have one (26mm) in fan. I love it! Splays so well and I could probably build enough lather to shave a horse. I've never tried their cashmere bulb, but I gather it's a great brush too? Hope that replacement arrives quickly and in good order. Good luck!

Thanks mrdoug The replacement Bulb came in and is in the pic for comparison to size difference of the same size bulbs (Cashmere and Silk Smoke) I may try the fan for now and get a Timberwolf later. I use rubber hose gaskets to lift loft when needed. Thanks

Mine was also a good deal. Some find the F too mild compared with the E2 but I like it just fine, it may not be quite as efficient but I think it's a better designed head.
