I also like the idea of having how to youtube video categories. They could be resources for anything from basics to honing to reviews etc. 
it would also be interesting to have some sort of way to rank or rate products similar to how amazon has reviews.-Bruce

I think a section that features a collection of youtube videos aimed at beginners of wet shaving would be a great idea. if i get a friend involved in wet shaving i can easily direct them to the dfs forums and help them find some of the best youtube video tutorials online considering that the people of the forums ( very experienced in wet shaving) will have approved them by posting them. this is assuming we dont already have this and im just not good at finding things

I like this place and the atmosphere here, and really cannot think of a way to improve it by much. My suggestion would be that as we grow, we try to maintain the great, comfortable attitude this forum has, and not suffer drama lightly. MHO.

We're looking for feedback on what you'd like to see added or improved on this site so go to the link, post your ideas, and you will automatically be entered in the contest.  This doesn't necessarily mean we'll be able to add or make said improvements, but we'd still like to see what ideas you have.

It would be great if you helped orchestrate some campaigns or contests to get people to participate.  As a bit of a newbie, I've been shy to even say anything on here, haha.  Lots of wallflowers I bet would get more involved if they could participate and get to be part of the conversation.

Could be SOTD, Mail Call, etc.  but all kinda low hanging fruit for someone brand new with a tiny bit of kit in their possession.

Also, better ways to swap or trade.

What I would like to see is a "View My Posts" feature. A link similar to "View New Posts" and "View Today's Posts" where I can see the list of threads that contain my posts and if there are updated with new posts. I believe this feature will help members to easily follow threads they are participating in.

Out of all the online forums I participate in, DFS has the best user interface.

Hi and Thanks for the giveaway.
I would actually like to see a different look as far as coloring, backround picture/wallpaper goes. DFS is a great forum but it lacks spirit. In other words if the site had different colors and format, it would just pop! I'm a big fan of color design and i think color gives spirit to anything really. I know there is blue color all along the site but how about making each category a different vibrant color? for example, yellow, orange, some brown and maybe even some purple?

Hello... generous offer... the site is nice and informative.. I would like to see price trends on the shaving products like maximum and minimum prices for a specific product... also adding some colors and more images to the website would add more glare and shine to it...

If those that are saying they would like a messaging system would look, there is one in the bottom left corner of peoples post, it says PM. Also a PM system set up through the top left where your user name is, in it has a messaging  conduit. But, I digress.

I would like to see the threads to be more centralized, similar to how Fb does it. We're  all part of the same group. Have a centralized forum, with people being able to post threads as they wish, and folks can just scroll the threads to participate in the discussions they wish to be a part of. Going back and forth between different categories is kind of a pain in the neck. However, that is JMO.

I would include a Aftershave and Edt section so that opinions and reviews could be given on smellies

we had actually talked about having a separate fragrance section before we made the site available to the public. we could revisit that. we're also looking into having a review system built for the site.

This may already be a capability I just might be technologically challenged; how about a way to tag people similar to FB.  When we type a post we could type in names and it would tag them maybe send an alert saying they where mentioned in a thread?

I would like to see either a daily or weekly group discussion question posted by the administrators. I know many of us post our own discussion questions on the threads but having a somewhat official question posted I feel would garner greater group wide discussion. Sometimes we can't go through all the threads so might miss out on some interesting topics. This way eveyone  is notified and able to participate if they so choose.

more like a Q&A type thing? the community asks the mods and admin questions and we respond?

I'm fairly new to this site, looks like you have a great site. Being a great site I can not think of needed improvements. But many of us collect fountain pens a seperate section to discuss fountain pens would be nice.

I think it would be fun to structure our sotd differently and make a monthly contest with a different theme each month. at the end of each month we vote the most beautiful photo in respect of the theme.

I would like to see a section on pairings. As in what soap/cream matches best with certain after shaves.

This could even be part of a larger section of a general/new to wet shaving/where do I begin?! section.

I know some of it is subjective, but I guess i look at it like which wine is best for which cheese type of thing.

I'd like to see a more minimal option for the layout in a manager system for the themes.  The layouts that are there now can make it to where I can only read three or four words per line if I am on my old 7" netbook and wanting to read the forum.  This is mostly because it seems like the current themes all look to see if your device is a mobile or standard device, and picks a minimal layout to view on a mobile, but any standard and the actual size of the screen doesn't get checked, leading to making it very difficult to view on a netbook device.

huck4food, I believe we already have this feature. I just tried it with your username and, if you have your alerts set up, you should have received one for this message.  Just type the @ and immediately follow it with the person's exact username (no space between the @ and the username).  The person's username should then show in your post and that person should get an alert. I hope this helps.
