D.R. Harris soaps versus creams

I'm curious to get thoughts on D.R. Harris creams versus their soaps. I have a puck of Marlborough soap which I suspect will last me another 40 years (I have far too many soaps). I like the lather I get from it, even if it doesn't load as a much of a paste the way other soaps do. "Problem" is, I've now fallen for the Arlington scent. Some misguidedly prudent part of me says, don't get another puck which will hang around another 40 years; you already have one -- get a sensible tube of cream. A crushing dilemma.

I notice the cream doesn't have tallow, whereas obviously the soap does. I've shaved with a sample of the Arlington cream and it actually did pretty well. Still, I'm curious what other folks' experience is between the two.

I much prefer the creams for performance. They have stronger scents too, if that's your thing.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

And I just realized I should add the soap stick to the list of options! Maybe that's the compromise I'm looking for.

Hi onethinline I have arlington cream and I like it, I have a puck of their lavender soap and its a great performer too. I also (you're not surprised are you) have a stick of their lavender and its pretty good although I think the cream and the puck outperform it by a hair. So at the risk of adding clarity to the situation I would say that the cream and the puck are comparable IMO and the stick a close second. I'm not sure if I like Arlington more than Marlborough as they are both very nice. There's always Windsor of course

I'll never get the cream over the soap, specially Marlborough. By the way, the scent is totally different between the two.

Yep, they're certainly different scents. Like I said, I have Marlborough in soap form, and a sample of the Arlington cream. I think I'm just going to give in to another 40-year burden and go with the Arlington soap, along with matching AS milk. :-)
