TL&A is easily one of the best soap scents I've ever smelled out of the tub! I might even go as far as to say its my favorite and I haven't even shaved with it yet. Can't wait to though. Cognac and Cubans is very similar to Soapy Bathman Cigar Lounge but is a bit richer and a little more "zing" to it. Karl and Liz were also kind enough to send me a sample of Thuringian Forest which also smells fantastic. Thanks Crowne & Crane! I will post an update on performance when I get a chance to use these lovely scented soaps. Oh and yes, I'm with HoosierShave on the aftershaves. I would be the first in line for TL&A scented splash!

I told you so!

And yea...TL&A splash would be incredible!

Little late to the party but I ordered the tub of Cognac and Cubans and received the puck of Tobacco Leaf & Amber and have to say I really like the TLA. Super easy to lather, slick razor glide and great post shave feel. I have only tried around half dozen tobacco scents and this one more true to form. Very similar to MW Sweet Briar but darker or deeper aroma. I like this one a lot and along with PAA Cavendish are my two favorites so far. Cognac and Cubans also great pre/post shave feel and the aroma to me is like GG Havana Cognac. In fact my GF stated that I already had this one and so I pulled out the HC aftershave and to me a dead ringer or pretty darn close. Hard to describe but I also like this one though it is sweeter so I don't call it a true tobacco scent. Overall the soap is very good, nice thick but creamy lather, excellent pre/post shave feel and looking forward to trying out the Thuringian Forest sample that was included in the box and this one also smells very good. Looks like Thuringian Forest and Caribbean Spice are in my near future as well.

Thanks for the great reviews gentlemen.  I'm so glad that you like our product and we really do appreciate your support very much.  We'll continue to try very hard to earn a spot in your rotation.

With regard to aftershaves, we probably won't be doing an alcohol-based aftershave in the near future, but I have been working for several months on creating an aftershave balm. After creating, testing and ultimately rejecting numerous formulations, I have finally developed a recipe that I believe deserves to go to market.  My criteria were very rigorous. In order to be acceptable to me, it had to be skin nourishing, by which I mean it should be soothing, skin hydrating, readily absorbed by the skin and the aftershave feel should be enhanced after use, not diminished. After 5 minutes, the skin should feel smooth, supple and well hydrated, but If there was any sign of a greasy or oily feeling after that  5 minutes the recipe was rejected.  In addition, the balm had to be capable of holding a fragrance for an acceptable amount of time, like an aftershave. This task was not as simple as one might imagine.

I have been testing this formula on myself for the last month or so and it is getting a thumbs up from me.  We should be releasing the product to testers and as samples in a variety of scents in the near future.  Also, I'm working on a non-alcoholic aftershave splash, although I do not know when I will be satisfied with it.  I'll be sure to keep everyone that is interested posted on the progress if there's interest in that.

Great to hear! Can't wait for the balm to hit the market...and, at the very least, there's one guy here interested in the splash Happy2

I'll be looking forward to the non alcoholic splashes, especially the TLA.

I haven't bought a balm since I first started wet shaving as I prefer alcohol splashes, but if you are as strict with the scent and performance of your balms as you are with your soaps...I will definitely be in the lookout for the release!

I've been so happy with the TLA & C&C that I received a week or so ago that I had to try these new scents, so I ordered a couple pucks yesterday afternoon. Both of the descriptions were intriguing to me especially the Spruce. I enjoy the "woodsy" scents and based on the "notes" descriptions I certainly don't think I'll be disappointed. Also, I'm looking forward to comparing the tallow vs vegan formulations. Thanks CrowneAndCrane !

Hi Karl, I just placed an order for a selection of your bath soaps. I'm not going to be using too much shaving soap over the next while. I had shoulder surgery and my right arm is in a sling for 6 weeks. I don't trust my left hand so i'm wearing a beard for the duration. I'll definitely need to bath thoughSmile
Thanks,
Mark

So sorry to hear about your shoulder surgery Marko. That sort of thing is not pleasant. Thanks so much for the soap order. I'll try to make sure the scents are better hidden from customs this time. I expected to be getting orders from the customs officials, but have not seen any so far.
