Crispy/hooked tips

Anybody know any brushes with knots that have the crispy hooked tips when dry and gel when wet? I have a whipped dog but looking for different makers.

Are you looking for a 2 band or 3 band badger brush? I can give you a decent list of them but second is do you have a price range?

Lee Sabini's Rooney's from back in the day. Great guy.

TGN Silvertip Grade A.

TGN Finest bulb. Fan possibly too. Not very consistent though.

TGN Silvertip Grade A flat top.

Frank Shaves finest (24mm for sure)

Some Paladin brushes.

Some Morris and Forndran.

My gelliest gel tipped brush right now is a Frank Shaves finest two band. Next is the TGN Silvertip Grade A.

My Simpsons two band silvertip Simfix is gel tipped too, but I have no idea how consistent they are and they don't make them very often.

Are you looking for a brushmaker that reliably sells true gel-tipped brushes? No such thing... There will always be variability from batch to batch. Perhaps you should post a WTB on the BST, and then ask for a close up of the knot before committing.

Most of the older M&F Heritage 2-Band brushes were exactly like this. Unfortunately, the only way to find them would be a WTB ad as I don't think Lee Sabini offers these knots, any longer.

I love me some hooked gel tips but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what you'll wind up with when you buy a brush. I still haven't come across a reliable consistent answer as to what causes them. It adds to the mystery I guess
