Colt's Plastic's is a company located in the "quiet corner" of northeastern Connecticut. They make wonderful high quality jars for the cosmetics industry. One of which is their thick walled 6oz PETG low profile jars. I love these containers as they are not deep at all, have a 4 inch width, and a threading with the lid that is as smooth and seamless as I have encountered. A really high quality container.

I have recently transferred a couple of Mike's Natural soaps into the Colt-Ainer jars and it really improves on those tins (or bars) Mike offers his soaps in. They are great for 2-3 pucks of Haslinger formed nicely within or any soap really.

The only problem is they only sell in bulk to vendors in the cosmetics industry.

Maggard's is the only place I could find them but they have been out of stock for months...until today.

After my order there are 47 in stock right now and going fast. Get some!

The photo below shows 3 of the of the 24 Pyrex and Anchor Hocking jars I use.  They hold 8oz of liquid which equals a cup.  As you can see they are heavy duty thick glass and about 95% of all the soaps fit in them perfectly.  The ones that don't can be shaved down easily.  The cover fits on tightly.  They come in packs of three.  My wife gets them at Walmart but are available in other locations.  The Pyrex cost about $8.75 or about $2.92 per and the Anchor Hocking is about $5.50 for three.  So they are relatively inexpensive.  Any time a soap I want comes in refill I purchase it that way.

@"Wet Shaving Addict" and I just had a conversation about the Colt-Ainer and Parkway jars. These jars are favored by a great many artisans, and for good reason. The discussion we had starts here: https://damnfineshave.com/thread-closed-...#pid124474

Nice photos, vtmax!

Oops!  I didn't see that thread so my apologies for a double post.

The Colt-Ainer 4 inch width and slim 1.5 inch height are perfect dimensions for me to load from. I have noticed that most containers have always been too deep for my liking so the slimmer and wide profile of these jars are wonderful. I also love the threading and how virtually air tight they are. Tins seem far less durable all around. They stack beautifully too if one likes that sort of thing as well.

I have some of those CRSW new Parkway jars on the way too after reading and corresponding with Bouki who ordered some.

I never thought I would care about where a soap is housed but these high quality jars just enhance great products like Mike's, SdM, Mystic and on. Wink

I did like to look at the Nuavia crocks I had and also owned the expensive aluminum dish for the C&S Oxford & Cambridge but was disappointed in the latters design. It was a stunning piece of hardware but there was just no real estate to load from.

the nice thing about those jars in their slim profile. some of the soaps out there come in large tubs and consume more real estate in the den..soap commander, lassc, etc..

No worries at all! That was a Buy-Sell-Trade thread, so in a sense, it was perhaps the wrong place to have such a conversation, anyway. Smile

I agree that the Colt-Ainer jars seem to have just the perfect dimensions in every way, and the threading is as smooth as you can get from plastic. They are rather heavy jars, and might be a bit brittle, because the plastic is almost like glass, but they sure are nice to look at and use.

The Parkway thick-walled jars are nice, as well. A little lighter, and my guess is, perhaps more durable if one happens to drop.

It would be nice to have a few more sources to buy jars from. Right now it’s pretty much Maggard Razors, in addition to a few vendors that sell empty jars that fit their line-up (such as Mystic Water Soap and Stirling Soap Company).

Only 32 left at Maggard's. Hope you picked some up before they're all gone in the next few days!

Just saw this picture. Absolutely gorgeous! I picked up 8 of them along with 8 more MW soaps. Can't wait to put them in these beautiful jars!
