I follow this - shower - MRGLO - lather of choice - shave 3 or 4 passes light rinse and re-lather between passes - clear off lather with incredibly soft Japanese cotton facecloth (either Uchino or Ikeuchi) 2 passes rinse between - rub wet alum block over all shaved surfaces - rinse thoroughly with cold water making a general mess of washbasin area - pat dry with conventional hand towel (I can't afford Japanese towels any bigger than a facecloth) - apply aftershave splash or balm as the case may be and then face the day confident, well groomed and smelling good.

I LOVE performing my final rinse with cold water. I rinse after my final pass, then pat dry, apply witch hazel, clean my gear while the witch hazel dries then end with a good aftershave splash or balm! No irritation, and smooth skin has been my experience!

More people should try the ice cube rub to finish a shave. If I wasn't concerned with waking some young children then I would use an ice cube after every shave.

I LOVE performing my final rinse with cold water

Then I dry my face.

Then I either use some after shave or just call that the end.
