Alex, have you tried it with a Wizamet Super Iridium Extra Stainless blade?  They are MAGIC in the BBS-1 for me.  You can get a couple at Tryablade.

Eric, I don't think Alex will experience an improvement with the Wizamet Iridium Super blades as I used them in my BBS-1 and I, as well, couldn't get good shaves with this razor. Unfortunately, it isn't for everyone. It is beautifully made, but it didn't provide smooth shaves for me.

I know of at least 3 others who use this blade exclusively with their BBS-1 and get fantastic shaves. Might be worth trying for a few bucks before trading off such an incredible razor. Just my .02c.

Put in a Voskhod and use an angle with the handle closer to your face...magic

I bought a BBS-1 of BST (different forum) a few weeks back. I wasn't overly impressed with the first few shaves. It was extremely efficient but also quite rough. Interestingly the Wolfman OC (0.74mm) took around 8-10 shaves before I fully appreciated angle and pressure (similar face feel with early attempts)

I now have the BBS-1 dialed in after 4/5 shaves. I find it to be between medium and high aggression, more efficient than most my OC razors and best used every other day. This tells me I still have a lot to learn regarding how the BBS-1 shaves. Given the praise it has received.
