This is my take on a traditional citrus fragrance made from 100% essential oils, absolutes and resins. It'll be a citrus scent and aptly named Smile

Citric - Scent ingredients:

Bergamot, Petitgrain, Lemon, Lime, Kaffir Lime Leaf, Blood Orange, Sweet Orange, Angelica, Grapefruit, Black Pepper, Mandarin, Castoreum, Pink Pepper, Benzoin, Nepalese Citronella, Litsea Cubeba, Ginger, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Oakmoss Absolute, Coumarin, Jasmine Absolute, Geranium, Ylang Ylang. Violet, Leaf Absolute, Fir Balsam Absolute, Elemi, Vetiver and Amyris.

It'll be available in December.

I can't say just yet Smile There are several that curing now. The weather has changed dramatically, curing times are becoming longer. I'll have a clear picture after Thanksgiving.

Is Citric your take on ADP that you have mentioned was coming in the past? I have had some issues with the scent strength of your previous soaps just being to strong for my liking. Is the scent strength of the Janus based soaps a bit lighter?

Thanks
Matt

There are so many scent ingredients in Citric that I wonder what the predominant scent is like.

I’m interested in the beef/lamb combo and the performance and post shave difference. I usually don’t use scents but for some reason this one has me interested.

Citrus Smile

Joking aside, a juicy citrus. Most of these ingredients are used at very low dosages, they mostly provide depth, they work as fixatives for the citrus notes. They're disclosed because I'm disclosing all the fragrance components.

I shaved with Citric for the first time today. I really like it. The scent, as advertised, is a complex citrus blend. It has perhaps a bit of musk to my nose, even though I don't see musk listed in the description. I like most citrus scents and this one, to me, is quite nice.

The performance is superb... easy to lather, plenty of slickness and cushion, and terrific post-shave feeling. This is the first time I've tried a GD soap with the Janus tallow base. It may end up being my favorite GD base.

Hi badgerinthesun

Thank you for posting your thoughts and for you patience dealing with the delayed shipping.

I reckon the musk note you're getting is from the castoreum and possibly the jasmine absolute. The jasmine absolute is a marvel of an ingredient, it's incredible and complex. In case you or other people reading this don't know. Jasmin contains some interesting components like Indole. The stinky stuff makes the overall scent interesting and somewhat animalic, in a sweet way Smile

Here are a couple of articles on castoreum and indole
