We will not have to attend any large Christmas parties which is fine with both of us.

This past weekend we had a single mother, her son and our daughter over. The young lady had never baked Christmas cookies. We baked Christmas cookies, baked soft pretzels and had a great time. I gave the son a ride on the tractor and he scooped up and dumped snow. But he really loved beeping the horn. We took lots of pics for them to share.

I think our daughter has another friend whom we will repeat this baking day for.

Christmas Eve will be spent at home. Another family will visit and I will serve lasagna, our traditional Christmas eve meal.

Christmas day will start with sticky buns and gift opening. Then everyone relaxes until dinner. Except the cook of course. I am doing a simple turkey breast. Us, our daughter and her young man, a friend of our daughters who has no local family, and our neighbor will be the gathering. Just 6 - a nice number.

I am looking forward to the quiet celebrations with friends and family.
