This morning I used Williams Mug soap and a Semogue owners club badger. Used the same Astra Superior platinum blade. This time my usual two passes. Great results. Minor blade feel but an incsredible smooth and close shave. Because the razor weighs only 2 oz I was able to zip through two passes in several minutes. I am going to continue to use this razor for the rest of the week and change blades after five shaves. Next up will be the dreaded Feather blade. To me this razor shaves better then the Carbon razor using the original plate and the ++ plate.

Shaves better as in less blade feel with more efficiency? Does anyone know what the gap or exposure is?

gap 1.12 mm. No exposure listed but according to Ron slight blade feel.

Shave 2 with the CF Ti and ETHOS Greenfresh. Another incredibly smooth shave that really sings when you hit the correct angle( shallower than my normal shavor). Another 3 pass plus a few buffing spots for a very nice shave. Minimal blade feel, I would put it at a 3 on Blackland’s chart. Very comfortable and it does get the job done with some extra passes.

Much better 2nd shave swapping the med prep with a wiz blade. 3 pass, irritation free bbs. 2 pass dfs. The results aren’t uniquely impressive, but throw in the unique/cool factor of the razor, coupled with a desire to support a new razor artisan and it makes this razor a keeper for me. Will be joining the paradigm se and rs-10m as my mild razor rotation.

As far as folks wondering about recommendations. The closest comparable razor for me is the new titanium h&s z074 razor.
CF finish is much nicer,
CF alum case is nicer(less practical though as the h&s case is perfect for travel),
CF is 70 bucks cheaper- hs is 423 with tax
CF is probably a hair more efficient.
I do prefer the grip of the z074 by a wide margin. the comparison is high regard in my opinion as the razor is no slouch.

Shave 3

Switched out the Astra Superior platinum for a Feather. I used Nivea shave foam. More blade feel with  the Feather but it was very smooth and close with little effort. The Imperial handle #3 is just fantastic. The razor weighs only 2 oz and almost impossible to slip from your hand even when soapy wet. To me this is a very impressive razor and does what its advertised to do on their website. I only do two passes and it works for me. All razors regardless of how much you pay have only one function and that is to shave. To expect more is ridiculous.

Shave 3 today on 2 days growth. Razor had no problem taking Down the majority of my whiskers using a GSB blade. 3 pass plus touchup BBS shave which is totally mindless as I think it would really take some effort to cut yourself with it. I know the gap is listed as 1.12 but the exposure must be zero to slightly negative. It is definitely the mildest in my collection, but I am enjoying its simple irritation free shave, just takes a few more strokes to get the end result.

I LOVE that handle slantman ! Probably the only reason I “may” end up owning this razor.

My razor was ordered with the #3 Imperial handle and according to Ron the razor is #27. The polish finish is beautiful and the grip feels wonderful. First shave tomorrow morning.

The head looks very similar to the Paradigm Diamondback.

Thinner and much less angular looking than the Diamondback; it also has more blade reveal.

I'd like to try it, but it's beyond my price point.  The #3 handle is certainly very beautiful.

Shave #4 for going out on Friday night. 4th use GSB and Proraso White preshave and soap. Just another simple 3 pass shave plus a little touchup for a wife approved BBS shave. Need to use a shallow angle and it does take a few more strokes but the end result is a smooth irritation free shave. If you like mild razors I would highly recommend this, if you prefer mid to high aggressive razors with blade feel look elsewhere. I am very pleased with this razor.
