I hear you, how about my butler laying out my shaving gear and making the ever so tasteful product choices for me? Oh wait, I don't have a butler.... guess I'll have to keep doing it myself.
On the subject of robot overlords, imagine the Shave-O-Tronic 1000, just stick your face in and zip zip zip you're perfectly shaved. There was a similar device in the book Black Man by Richard Morgan where the villain uses a robotic surgical suite to disassemble the crew for his consumption during the voyage from Mars to Earth, pretty nasty.
