Hello all! My name is Shawn, and a while back I made a shea butter post shave salve for me and my friends, Jason and Liz. We ended up forming Chatillon Lux, a brand based on the history of our beloved South Saint Louis. Our goal is to make luxury, hand-crafted grooming provisions at a reasonable price and that anyone can enjoy.

Currently we carry shea butter based post shave salves and pre shave butters. The salve has 30% shea butter, as well as witch hazel, avocado oil, coconut oil, lanolin, and more. You can read reviews of these products here.

Soon we will be releasing a nourishing, low-alcohol splash with chamomile, calendula, elderflower, aloe, glycerin, witch hazel, grapefruit seed extract and lanolin that comes in all of our scents. Additionally, the splash will also come in a tea tree oil version for added skin care. So far we've received a really positive response from all of our product testers on these and hope to have them out next week.

Lastly, Liz, a former stylist, is working on a hair paste and multi-purpose moisturizer that will round out our grooming offerings.

So we're pretty busy and pretty excited. I'd love to answer any and all questions, as well as shoot the breeze with you. Let me know if you have any questions or comments here or at chatillonlux at gmail dot com. We will keep you abreast of our new product developments and sales here or on our Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. And thanks to everyone who has supported and encouraged us as we get off the ground!

Tomorrow at 1 PM ET, we will release a limited first run of our aftershave toners and tea tree roborant with $2 off each product (down to $15 for the toner, $16 for the tea tree splash) at ChatillonLux.com. We will also be releasing a new scent for our aftershave salve: La Forêt de Liguest (which will also be available in an aftershave toner). This scent has been described as "Peter Pan's musk" and is a spicy, woodsy scent with warm citrus undertones. It is our most masculine and most complex scent. Product testers have reported a positive and animalistic response from the female gender. Be warned.

Hello all you immaculately groomed DFSers!

Those awful "sold out" signs have been banished from our webstore and our Post-Shave Toners (in all four scents)  and Tea Tree Roborants (in its only scent) are back in stock at ChatillonLux.com

If you had not heard, our toners and roborants are much like our hometown St. Louis. It's halfway between the brash sting of the East Coast and the warm, soothing nature of the West Coast. The combination of aloe, witch hazel, chamomile, calendula, elder flower, glycerin and lanolin combat and soothe redness, but while nourishing and moisturizing to give a supple post-shave feeling.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Hey guys, just to let you know what we have on the horizon:

New Scents!

I am currently working on a few new scents. We will be introducing a new salve scent with a more fresh and kind of sweet vibe. We have a lot of ladies who use our salve and wanted to get something more appealing to them, but also something that guys can enjoy, as well.

In the post-shave toners, I am working on a new, more masculine fragrance after the warm reception our spicy fougère-inspired scent, La Forêt de Liguest. I am also getting together the beginnings of a warm scent that's designed more for the cold-weather months, but not so much so that it can't be worn once the snow melts. Something with nutmeg, possibly.

As far as our pre-shave butters go, we only have a lavender scent at the moment. We are looking to expand that line with a woodsy scent with citrus and floral, as well as a rosemary lavender and perhaps another one.

Thanks for the support everyone has shown us so far. Check out the latest review of our Tea Tree Roborant, which is toward the end of this video.

We have recently announced our cold weather season scent, Gratiot League Square. This is a scent inspired by the traders and expeditions that passed through the Gateway City on their way westward. The main notes are tobacco and leather, and the warm, spicy accord is supported by rose, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla, musk bergamot and amber.

It will be available in toners and salves around the time of the autumnal equinox, but I've heard that bottles of the toner have been procured upon special request.

Hey guys, I recently have heard requests for a tobacco and leather based aftershave. So I went down to the scent lab and came out with a spicy, woody, leather and tobacco scent that I think is our best one yet. We put a lot of work into it and are really proud of it. It will be available in both post-shave toners and salves at ChatillonLux.com tomorrow (Saturday 9/26) at noon central time.

Here's the story:

In the long and rich history of traders in early Saint Louis, there is one name that often gets looked over when talking about the Choteaus and Lacledes: Charles Gratiot, Sr. Originally a fur trader from Montreal, Charles Gratiot moved to Saint Louis and established a robust trading business in the time of westward exploration.

Eventually marrying into the Choteau family, Gratiot bequeathed a league of land to Saint Louis to encourage its expansion. The Gratiot League Square contains parts of historic Forest Park; Saint Louis' Irish neighborhood, Dogtown, and Italian neighborhood, The Hill; and Chatillon Lux headquarters.

This scent is inspired by Gratiot's trade, and features tobacco, leather, rose, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla, musk, bergamot, and amber. This is the smell of a busy day in the Carondelet markets.

On Tuesday, October 20, we will be releasing our newest scent in both a salve and toner available at ChatillonLux.com

Champs de Lavande is a simple, earthy lavender meant to compliment a wide range of fragrances and lathers. It's the smell of a lavender field in the spring, with ylang ylang, rosemary, bergamot and black pepper taking a back seat to a Bulgarian lavender.

Tomorrow, October 20, Champs de Lavande will be available in a toner.

Due to a shipment delay, the salve version won't be out. What will be released is a limited scent salve at a discount. It's something I made and it ended up as a nice, soapy scent, but the lavender got kind of buried (it was a Champs de Lavande test prototype). Due to this, we will be selling those salves at 20% off until they're gone. The scent has lavender, oak moss, Spanish moss, bergamot, rosemary, and black pepper.

In future news, we will soon be adding samples to sell on our site. Also, we will be releasing a ladies' line in time for Christmas. Get the special lady in your life a super-moisturizing salve, with a rose/amber/floral/patchouli scent, La Fleur de Carondelet, or a fresh, cucumber scent in La Jardin de Odile. These will be out in early November.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
