On Saturday, January 9, we will be releasing a new scent: Bon Vivant. In celebration, all orders $30 or more (through Tuesday, January 12) will receive free domestic shipping.

Regarding Bon Vivant:

"The Professor" Jerry Thomas was the first celebrity bartender and wrote the original guide to bartending: The Bar-Tender's Guide: How to Mix Drinks or the Bon Vivant's Companion. He had a famous stint at the original Planter's House Hotel in St. Louis and gained notoriety for a drink that was set aflame, then tossed through the air, back and forth between two mugs.

We created Bon Vivant as tribute to Jerry Thomas inspired by a whiskey drink with chartreuse and orange bitters. The scent itself is spicy and warm with a twist of citrus on the top. It is completely unlike any other scent creation that we have made thus far, and we are very proud to release such a sharp divergence from our scent line up.

In future news, we will be receiving our alcohol license any day now and will begin producing a new, alcohol-based aftershave upon its arrival. Stay tuned for details, and visit ChatillonLux.com this Saturday, January 3 to pick Bon Vivant up. Samples will be available for purchase, as well.

I really like and am a fan of what you are doing- the one thing that has held me back is that I very much prefer alcohol in an AS splash.

Thanks Kevin! We've been waiting for almost 7 months now trying to get this stupid license and I don't want to get ahead of myself, but, according to the guy we're working with, we should have everything ready to go for approval...which is only the third time in the past two months he's said that. Fingers crossed that third time's the charm!

And while I do enjoy using the natural astringents in the toners, there is definitely something to be said for how that alcohol sting can get you going in the morning. It's definitely going to be the crowning jewel in the lineup.

Thanks to a bottle of Everclear, we have the formula ready to go: Alcohol, chamomile extract, calendula extract, elderflower extract, witch hazel, aloe, glycerin and a very subtle amount of menthol. So we should be ready to roll not long after the shipment of alcohol comes in.
