I like the scent a lot even if, I don’t know why, I thought it was going to be more powerful, but it is the really a joy on the skin. It is thicker than any other AS that I have and the suggestion to applying to the wet skin is spot on.
I would like to try another one. Something strong(er) but I don’t like vetiver nor grassy or earthy notes a lot. May I ask for suggestions?
Also, I read somewhere else that you are going to propose a barbershop style AS. Is that correct?
Congratulations! Very good aftershave.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, by the very nature of their molecular composition, citrus scents are difficult to make too strong without adding an unsafe ratio of fragrance to aftershave. If you don't like vetiver or grassy notes, I would say to avoid La Quatrème Ville. As far as recommendations go, maybe it would be helpful to know what kind of scents you do enjoy? Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli is popular for being citrusy with the rose and patchouli being down in the mix. Gratiot League Square does have vetiver, but it's not prominent, with leather, pipe tobacco, sandalwood taking the spotlight in that scent. Bon Vivant is a sweeter, more gourmand scent that is popular, but it does have a smoky note to it. If you're looking for a more citrusy scent, Fourth & Pine is almost straight citrus (although, again, being citrus, it will be hard to make it too strong) that is out of season, but I believe still in stock at Maggard Razors and Italian Barber. Champs de Lavande is lavender, but with a peppery earthiness to it. TSM Fougère is green and floral. Unconditional Surrender is pretty popular, but it is rich, powdery and woody with some floral undertones.
But I would probably not really recommend one over another without knowing what your personal tastes are.
Also, I will be doing a Movember barbershop scent, but it was a last minute thing, plus my graphic designer has some stuff going on in his life that is keeping him from work, so I'm just waiting on that. At the moment, I think the tentative date will be November 30, just because whenever it actually does get done, I will still have to send it off to the printer and wait for them to turn around the order.
Anyway, glad you're digging the aftershave! Thanks a lot!
