I've been really enjoying Fourth & Pine - I love all of your scents but Fourth & Pine has quietly elbowed its way to the top of my CL list.  So anybody out there who hasn't tried F&P I highly recommend it.  And its got no pine in the scent.  Just to be clear.

Echoed. One of my favorite CL. Close call between that and Unconditional Surrender.

I like Gratiot League Square the best I think. I haven't sniffed any of the new ones yet though.

In love with Santal Auster but a bit critical of the Santal Auster salve, it doesn't smell that good compared to splash.

My favorite of my 12 (although I haven't tried two of them) is Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli. I'm a sucker for patchouli. I grew up in Boulder in the late 60s, early 70s, and the scent of patchouli incense was everywhere. Including at my barbershop, which doubled as a head shop, so a ten-year old like me could buy a buzz cut and a bong in the same retail establishment. And my barber was my assistant Boy Scoutmaster. Those were the days. Anyway... the YRP aftershave is amazing.

Thank you! And also, talk about lack of foresight by putting the word "pine" in the title. Since I know the intersection, it never occurred to me. Funny how you can become numb to the nuances of something like that when you're exposed to it enough.

What is funny: a friend of mine just getting into CL swears he smells Pine in Fourth & Pine. The power of suggestion?

Well, there are molecules that compose lavender that can also be found in coniferous scent, so not technically wrong, but it's also probably aided by the power of suggestion.

Hey Canada, I just sent aftershaves and salves of Catalan's Prairie and Rose Santal this morning to Canadian Blade Co. So keep your eyes peeled for whenever they show up.

Tomorrow, June 29, is the last of the Chatillon Lux anniversary trilogy, and we saved the best for last.

Rose Santal is a dusty, sultry rose and sandalwood scent with spicy and subtly sparkling sweet undertones. It was built of the Santal Auster sandalwood accord, a creamy, rich sandalwood that I built from scratch using the highest quality raw perfumery materials. Then I made the Rose Verte accord, which is a dusty rose smell with a sparkling undertone, designed to complement Santal Auster. I created the Rose Verte accord from studying gas chromatography analysis of the molecular composition of different rose varieties, then used that to design a hybrid rose accord, again eschewing the types of fragrances and oils that can be found in both soaps and candles in favor of a composition consisting of high-quality perfuming ingredients.

I then rounded it out with a subtle spice from cardamom essential oil and Indian black pepper essential oil, all supported by the rich, animalic undertones of labdanum absolute.
This scent comes out at 11am Eastern with soap at LandLGrooming.com (free shipping with code ChatillonLux at checkout) and aftershave/toner/salve and EdT at ChatillonLux.com (free US shipping/discounted Canadian shipping by choosing 2nd Anniversary Shipping option at checkout). The eau de toilette will remain part of Chatillon Lux's permanent line up, but, due to the very high cost of the fragrance, the shaving products can only be limited edition because it is too costly to wholesale.

As I look back to June 15, 2015, I want to say thank you to all the well wishers, customers new and old, and all the wonderful people who have made the first two years at Chatillon Lux so amazing!

By the way, there is still Catalan's Prairie soap left at L&L! Get some before it's gone.

I have been so looking forward to this eau de toilette after getting a chance to sniff it and try a bit at the St. Louis Shave Meet-up!
