In my experience, Merchant & Rhoades is a class act. Very nice that you were able to visit them, and I’m sure they were equally excited to have you.

You bet, Kirk was a great guy and I think it will be the perfect home for Chatillon Lux in Chicago

Thank you! Also, I knew I couldn't walk into a place like that looking like a schlub.

I posted this elsewhere last night, but figure it needs repeating, as I fondly reminisce while watching the Mariners strive to win another game:

"I’m sitting two barstools down from a young woman who told me, 'You smell very nice.' At first I thought, 'Uh oh, I’m that guy who wears too much fragrance.' Then I realized she had just walked past me on her way back from the bathroom. I thanked her, and she said it smelled like leather and light patchouli. She also said she wanted some. Lucky I left it in the office, or I might have offered it to her.

What am I wearing? Gratiot League Square EdT, of course. One spray, several hours ago. If attractive 20-somethings with green hair, tattoos and facial piercings find it attractive, how can I argue?"

CCity That is awesome, I love that story. I guess she must be fond of leather.

I got to meet Shawn in St. Louis on Wednesday and he very graciously gave me a wee sample of a beta version of his upcoming Lamplight Penance Parfum and all I can say is I'll be on line to purchase a bottle when it officially goes on sale in October.  It is hard to describe but he told me two scents in it were peach and a smoke of some sort.  All I could think of was that's weird.  However, as we continued chatting. I couldn't wait and put a bit on my wrists.  For me, it was just amazing.  I think Shawn must have been totally amused when my eyes  opened in surprise and I just started smiling.  I don't know how he did it but the various accords work beautifully together.  I love and own several of Shawn's creations but he also knows if I'm not wild about something I'll tell him why.  Lamplight Penance is a winner for me.  Also, hawns, it was great seeing you and a million thanks for your gracious hospitality.  I really enjoyed Rooster in downtown STL. Smile
