The only issue I have with the Kaizen versions is that they don't last nearly as long as their predecessor.

perhaps but that is the way things have been headed for a lot of artisan soap makers e.g. Declaration Grooming with Milksteak and B&M with SoftHeart.

I didn't like the scent that much at first. There was something that I found to be a little harsh. However, once I started using it, the smell changed for me. Whatever made it harsh to my nose seemed to mellow out. I like the scent now, but I still wouldn't say it's my favorite.

Did you only smell it? If unused it'll move fast on the BST.

Again, not a summer scent. Better for Fall and I'd say Winter TBH.
