flip away people!!! I don't know why this is always brought up as if a shaving forum is some sacred place to prevent people from making money on an item a buyer and seller mutually agree to do a deal on.

This has always been a contentious subject and usually, when it comes up, the thread gets out of hand and is closed.  People seem to be divided on this, and that includes the moderators here to some degree, so I hate when the term 'flipping' rears its ugly head. Sad

Right I seen this I think to my personal knowledge buying CG’s it’s not a bad price if it’s over $650 USD ok sure it’s getting out of hand but $450 it’s reasonable to my view personally…

My CG Gen 2 Lvl3 I payed $350 USD non polished not to be in near state the way it came in…my polish on it $185 USD a bit more as it requires more time I’m asking $385 USD it’s more than fair pretty much half of the cost of my polish job!!

Things like this that are highly sought sometime if we want it Badly we unfortunately pay price for it vise versa…

Thank you for the link.

eBay is known as the Wild West for predatory profit extraction as well as bargains.

It seemed to me that there was aspersion made regarding DFS member(s), minimally shaving community member(s) generally on fora and social media. An eBay link strikes me as insufficient to provoke the ire raised by the post, irrespective of one's perspective regarding buying with the intent of immediately reselling at a profit.

Anybody knowing anything regarding the financial and temporal investment involved in polishing would not argue you asking too much for such a high level polish on that razor. Further, costs of materials to undertake a first class polish have risen significantly in just the past weeks based on catalogues from tooling suppliers.

You insult your craftsmanship by even engaging in a conversation regarding the worth. For those of us favouring polished razors, we are well aware of the costs and benefits: for those not, they are perfectly in their rights to have no interest.

It is troubling observing people wanting highly value added items complaining when it time to fairly compensate the artisan for their life long skills, hard work and supplies - many times when the very people complaining are highly remunerated for their skills and efforts.

Well said exactly to the point, just for ex…high end muslin wheels use to cost $100 depending on brand etc now it’s gone so high and parts and material being involved not mentioning my hands…

But I do all in good deed to make folks happy and be in this charming community that’s all…

But regarding unobtainable CG things from past etc it’s another topic and subjective, it’s just it’s nature and sadly sometime we have to Sacrfice and pay price for it..Certainly I have that’s for sure but plan keeping it for good while doing this!!

But hey at the end we get what makes us happy in this hobby…
