I have been curious about Charcoal Goods for some time. For those who have shaved with or own both the brass and stainless steel, are there any significant differences between the two? Thank you in advance for any information or advice!

Thank you in advance for any information or advice! While I like either the brass or the SS I think I get a slightly better shave ... or shall I say more efficient, out of the SS.
The only reason I can discern is the weight of the heads. SS top cap/baseplate is 1.4 grams on my digital scale, the brass is 1.0 gram.
Perhaps that is imperceptible in hand, but I did 'feel' the SS performed slightly better. OTOH, the brass is great too.
Speaking of a Lv 3 & Lv 2, though I only weighed the Lv 3 brass and SS.
Thanks JimmyH...I like the looks of the brass razor better than the SS, especially the top cap. But if the SS shaves more efficiently, that is something that would have to be taken into consideration as well. If i do end up purchasing one, it would be either a Lv 1 or Lv 2. I'm sure the Lv 3 is more than I want out of a daily driver.

I had one plate, then picked up another with a razor I bought just to get the gen 1 maze handle.
So I tried to like it but just couldn't. So sold both Lv 2 plates. Meanwhile I ran onto this thread and read it from start to finish.
So many praised the Lv 2 that I began second guessing myself. Picked up a gen 1 Lv 2 DC in the BST.
I worked on shaving with it daily, and found that as daily shaver it was darn good after all.
So I had the opportunity to get a Lv 2 in stainless and found it to be even better than the brass.
OTOH, I'm not sure it is a large increment better. If you like brass razors those are quite good too.
