What you are smelling is marzipan made from almonds. I am Italian and it is a very popular flavor in candy and pastry items. I have the kilo block and it is an incredible soap. It is used a lot in Italian barber shops. Any time you get soaps used in barber shops whether it is from the UK, France, Spain or Italy they generally are extremely good. I hope you enjoy it.

Shave Maharaja
India
I smelt it firat some 8 years ago when I recieved it as a sample from a now defunct shaving supplies online vendor and instantly knew I had to get the kilo block. What surprises me is that the scent stays and doesn't fade with time and exposure to water and air. The lather is slick, good razor glide and the skin feels soft after the shave.

I had put the sample in a small metal tin back then which got out of sight once I started using the kilo block in a larger container.

A few months ago i found the old sample tin ane opened it. It smelt and performed the same after all these years. Incredible!

I have herd that the kilo block it a better formula than the one in the red plastic jar. The only problem the block will outlast me.

Cella is the only soap on my den to deteriorate in less than a year's time to the point I dumped it. Nice performer but I would not buy again.

I don’t want to smell like candy or a pastry....lol

All soaps and creams used to barbershops are always cheap products which can be bought in bulk...ie, Cella.

Barbershop is a very lucrative business.

I personally hate the smell...and performance was terrible.

But, there are a lot of Cella fans!

But i am not one of them.

Totally agree. Cells is just "meh". The scent is not one I'm fond of and the post shave leaves my skin drier than the Sahara Desert.

You did not say how you stored it. Once I removed enough to fill my Pyrex bowl I sealed it with a vacuum sealer. I have since opened it several times to give some to friends and resealed it every time and it is like I just purchased it. It is important to correctly seal soaps and creams that you will not use for many months.
