andrewjs18 is it possible for me to get added back to the end of this passaround after Ketotrader ? I had opted out after buying the the carbon w the original plate, but I am thinking if buying the + and / or ++ plates and would find it useful to try them in SS. Thanks!

Hi all,

Here's the current pass around list for the Carbon razor. This pass around will include 1 handle, 1 top cap and 3 base plates: the original base plate plus 2 new base plates Carbon has designed.

Since there's only 1 razor being passed around, please try to get the razor sent out to the next person via priority mail after 7 days of usage so things move along at a decent pace.

**Please spray the complete razor down with alcohol or something similar before shipping it out to the next person and upon receiving it!**

My thoughts on the Carbon after trying all 4 plates with some tried a couple of times.

This razor may have just helped me improve my shaving technique. When i jeep hearing people say "No pressure, let the razor do the work", I think I finally grt what no pressure actually.means.

Beautiful razor...all plates worked excellent...very efficient on the + and ++ plates.....and really, just a little extra pressure would convert a fantastic shave into one with a lot of razor burn.

I liked the + plate the most. The ++ plate while super efficient, I think may be a little too much if one wanted to use this as a daily driver. The minus plate was very nice and came in second in my preference for a smooth mild shaver.

What stood out to me was the excellent quality of construction and overall design.
The R2 handle is just a pleasure to use.... and shaving against the grain was so easy.

Overall, I really liked this razor. Excellent job by Carbon.

I decided to revisit these plates after talking to my friend zaclikestoshave who is a big fan of the various carbon plates and is a veteran wet shaver whose opinion I respect. 

I love this set up from CarbonShavingCo. All four plates - the original, +, ++, and - are great and they are all very different. If I was earlier on in my wet shaving razor acquisition process, I could have have seen getting all four plates and stopping right there. There is such variety in the plates in terms of gap and blade exposure and the concomitant aggression and efficiency that comes with it. I admire the thought that Sean has put into these plates. 

In my opinion, however, the original plate, which I own, is still my favorite, if I had to pick just one. I guess you could say I prefer lower gaps with higher exposure (although I do like variety in DE configurations). Sean designed a masterpiece with the original plate, in my view.
