I was using a Wizamet the last few shaves using both 0.68 and the ++ base plate. It was a nice pairing but I want to switch over and try out a Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus. Has anyone else been trying different blades in their Carbon razors? I have held off on Nacet but would like to try it soon as it seems to work great for many people.

During the pass-arounds, I used 4 blades. The Nacet was my favorite blade in the Carbon CX. Second favorite was the Wizamet (same as Polsilver).

In my experience, the original Cx, being quite blade forward, is rather fussy with regards to blade choice. The ++ plate takes anything I have.

I've had very good results in using both the Kai & Feather blades in the +,++ base plates. Of course, ymmv.....

I received the passaround razor & base plates today.

I’m excited to take them for a spin. I’ll likely use the + a couple times before posting my thoughts and moving on to the ++.

In full disclosure, I can’t imagine that the Carbon CX could get any better. I’m looking forward to finding out what these new plates bring to the table.

Someone can compare the Carbon ++ with the Karve G SB? Which is the most efficient?

Karve G without question.

Karve G is more efficient while being just as smooth.

I would put the efficiency of the ++ Carbon Cx on par with a Karve-e. About as smooth as the Karve D plate.

I’ve had a couple shaves now with the + and WOW!

I could tell after two strokes that this was clearly an improvement on the standard Cx.

I must admit that I’m shocked it could actually get better. I was perfectly happy with the standard plate but now, my goodness - how could I ever go back!!

I’m really looking forward to trying out the ++ & seeing if there’s any more room for improvement.

I found the + to b exactly what’s already been described in this thread, more efficiency while maintaining comfort.

So far, I’m impressed.
