First shave was phenomenal! This is my first exposure to a titanium razor. This thing is crazy light! Comparable to aluminum. Which makes me wonder, what is the real benefit to titanium with the added cost versus aluminum (besides being harder).

The presentation was nice. I appreciate the eco friendly packaging used by carbon. This is one of those razors closely resembling a piece of art. Highly polished, the two tone base plates, and the carbon fiber/titanium handle all combine to give it a very unique look.

I decided to use the carbon fiber handle on the first shave for the heck of it, but I honestly like the looks and feel of the all titanium handle better. Lathered up some DG shore and went at 2 days of growth. The razor handled it well. It took a few strokes to get used to the handle and light weight, but once acclimated it was a super smooth shaver. I started off with the original base plate and a new Astra SP to get a good starting point as I have never used one of their razors. There was a slight amount of blade feel, and good efficiency. I performed a 2 pass shave, WTG and a combo of XTG/ATG to get a smooth irritation free shave. The small head and positive exposure made it easy to get in all the nooks and crannies. My face stayed smooth for the majority of the day until I went to bed, around 12 hours. I'm going to skip a day and baseplate, and shave 2 days growth with the "++" plate tomorrow. If its too much, I'll drop back to the "+" plate. [Image: ftR9znC.jpg]

Second shave today. Had 3 days of growth, went with the "++" plate and a second use Astra SP. ETHOS Succes soap and skin food, with a wolf whiskers brush. Hot shower was my only pre shave. Used the all titanium handle today, I honestly think it looks and feels much better than the carbon fiber handle. This plate was honestly underwhelming! For being the largest gapped plate, it was not very efficient. Or, not as efficient as I was expecting. I think the standard plate may be more efficient, or at least has more blade feel. It was an extremely smooth shave, but the end goal was less than I had hoped and expected. There was a hefty bit of stubble left after the first pass, most of it was taken care of with the second pass, but the shave wasn't "BBS" quality. I'll try the "+" plate, and maybe switch to the standard plate for half of my face to compare again. The "++" plate does feel very safe though, and I never felt like I was going to get bitten or irritated. No picture because I was in a hurry  Sad

Third and last shave today. I decided to compare the original plate to the "+" plate. Hot shower prep, ETHOS Succes soap and skin food, new Gillette Platinum blade.

I shaved the R side of my face with the "+" plate, and the L side with the original plate. Only had a little over 24 hours growth. Did a first pass WTG, and second pass is a hybrid of XTG and ATG on certain parts of my face.

Much of my thoughts from the second shave with the "++" plate were confirmed (IMO). Shaving with the original plate was much more enjoyable, and for some reason more efficient. Maybe the higher gapped plates have a smaller "sweet spot" due to the decreased blade exposure, and just don't work with how I shave. Both the "+" and "++" plates had less blade feel than the original, but left me wanting more. After the first pass there was noticeably more stubble left on the "+" side. After the second pass, my L side (original baseplate) is damn near BBS, while the R side ("+") has some rough spots.

I am so blown away with how the original baseplate shaves in Titanium, I plan on buying one when they're available again. I'm extremely grateful I was able to try them all out in the passaround, because otherwise I probably would have purchased the "++" plate and been very disappointed. These are very nice razors and fit the bill for design and size that I like. Thank you to DFS and Carbon Shaving for making this a possibility.

Razors will be sanitized, packaged up, and sent out Tuesday morning.

Razor is shipped off to Zac. Just to let everyone know, I discovered some scratches on top of the "++" plate while sanitizing it. I don't know if I caused them, but didn't inspect closely prior to use so it's on me. [Image: rFwrUby.jpg]

I have received the package from Marhos24 safely so cheers for safe shipping. I should be shaving early in the week with some configuration. Looking forward to sharing the shaves and see how things go. I want to look to see if I have another Kai blade to use next week.

Just to note on this. I spoke with Sean from carbon and he's going to repolish this razor when this pass around is done before it is placed up for auction to get rid of the scratches.

While their razors may not be for everyone, their customer service has been top notch and they're very receptive to our feedback.

Kudos, Sean! CarbonShavingCo.

If interested in this pass around, reply in this thread and tell us what state you reside in.

As with the usual DFS pass arounds, please keep the razor for a week and then pass it on to the next person on the list. Once you get time, share your thoughts on the razor, whether positive or negative. Please give the razor a quick bath in alcohol or something similar when you receive it and before sending it out.

**Please be courteous to Sean for sending us such an expensive razor kit to try and insure the package for $900 when shipping it to the next person on the list. This is mandatory. If you don't insure the package and we find out, you'll be barred from future pass arounds we put together on DFS.**
