Good to hear Shavemd that the ++ plate is just as smooth but, just a tad more efficient. I was wanting the ++ plate for the Ti but, there was only the + version available at the time. Sean assured me that he would have more available in the next couple of weeks so, I just went ahead and ordered it. Once he restocks the ++ version, I’ll order one up...

Spoke to Sean and he's fine with passing it around Canada too.

I'll add our Canadian members to the end of the pass around list.

This is very generous, Andrew, but there might be some concern with the insurance of the package. Whomever receives it when it crosses the border into Canada (and possibly the US) will, more than likely, have to pay quite of bit of money regarding importing fees, regardless if it is marked as a 'gift'. I am not certain what it is like for Americans, but once Canada Customs see the value of the package, the taxes on it will be exorbitant and exceed $100.
I would love to try the razor, but not for $100 +, unfortunately. The only way I can see a resolution would be if you had enough Canadian members and they agreed to split the cost of the importing fees. Just a thought.  Shy

I'll let you Canadians figure this one out unless CarbonShavingCo. has a better idea. regarding sending it back to the US, we don't have import fees to worry about here.

Yes, as soon as I saw the insurance amount, I knew this wouldn’t be feasible. Perhaps we could tag onto the SS pass around at the end? celestino and Senate515 I would gladly split fees if the insurance is lower on that one, and you’re interested.

Thanks for checking Andrewjs18.

Tony, the SS razor would be less expensive, but the importing fees will probably be around $30 - 40, plus $16 -20 to ship within Canada, plus $20 to ship it back to the US. Unless we can get more Canadian members, I don't want to spend over $40 just to try a razor, unfortunately. This is why I didn't initially ask to be placed on the list.

Gents, if you haven't signed up for the pass around, I suggest you consider doing so if, it is financially feasible. I had my first shave with my Cx-Ti with the + plate and it was an extremely enjoyable shave. This razor will not disappoint, Gentlemen. My initial impressions write up will be coming soon in the other Carbon thread as to not alter this thread for pass around users.

I'm most interested in reading impressions about how blade exposure of the + (and ++) Ti plates compares to the original base plate.

For me it seems like the ++ baseplate has slightly less blade exposure, but definitely a step up in efficiency compared to the standard plate
