Although I have not used any of the Carbon razors in the brass material, I have used all the plates and handles in stainless and in titanium. I use all of the plates in different titanium configurations but the most used razor from Carbon I have is a copper model in the "-" minus plate. It is hefty in weight so I am guessing the brass will feel similar. I use this razor for both daily shaving but it also tackles 4-5 days of beard no problem as well. It is nice on the skin but the geometry is efficient at cutting. I would recommend your mild plate for the brass if that is something you end up trying. Sean will take care of you if you have any inquiries.

Thanks DesertIguana for the note...I often get asked what base plate to consider, I wrote a blog post on the subject:

Carbon Shaving Co. Base plate choice

I get a little geeky but I find folks who are considering a mild plate...are likely going to be happy with our mild plate(vs our other plates). It has the smallest gap and the least blade feel compared to our others. We designed our Cx safety razor based off of a 1945 Gillette Tech, however our mild plate adds more efficiency and slightly more blade feel when compared.

One variable that expands the range of our base plates(also the case with other manufacturers) is blade choice...we talk about pairing blades with our base plates in the above blog.

One subject that is not discussed above is the weight of the razor...our brass is one of the heaviest razor we offer(92 grams total weight), the only razor heavier is copper(97 grams total weight). If you were considering one of our Titanium hybrid versions(the Cx-Graphite or Cx-Atlas) with a carbon fiber handle, the weight drops to +/-30 grams total weight. With a lighter razor, I usually recommend stepping up in base plates...

On a side note...thank you all for the support! Good or bad(preferably good!), I am humbled to be mentioned...thank you all so much!

After 6 years we are still building our razors! Thanks again...
