The copper bowl looks good and works great. I am not a fan of Bay Rum but the CC venture is a very good version of Aventis, and the soap and cream whip up a wonderful lather.
Thank you for the reply

I purchased the rounded edge version and have enjoyed it for a while. One of the few bowls in the den I don’t worry about dropping too

My Ceramic bowl that I had for a few years finally broke awhile back. I upgraded to the copper and removed the lacquer. It’s so beautiful polished up, or letting it get a bit of patina here’s a few photos from different months:

I love the scent of CC Bay Rum. It is my favorite Bay Rum scent, but I like it primarily because it does not contain clove, but rather cinnamon as the added spice. My skin is very sensitive to clove, so I cannot use a Bay Rum like Ogallala that are high in clove content. However, if you do like clove, then you might not like CC.

I also love CC Bay Rum and Ogallala - I'm lucky that I've only ever had one reaction to a product over the years that has caused me to discontinue using that product.  There are a few that are a little warming but in a nice way.  The Murphy & McNeil Bad Mohr bay rum warms me a little but I like it  Happy2  Have you ever tried the D.R.Harris Bay Rum?  Its probably my most "refined" bay rum, even more so than St. Johns but its still a very nice bay rum.

The Captain's Choice heavy copper lather bowl has become my every day lather bowl.  I still occasionally use the Captain's Choice ceramic lather bowl but the copper one is my go to lather bowl.  Its funny that the texture on the bottom of the copper below, which consists of slightly raised rings pressed into the bottom aren't particularly aggressive but the texture of the copper just seems to build the lather.  I can feel more drag moving the brush across smooth copper the I do across smooth ceramic which would stand to reason because I assume if you were to look at the two surfaces under a microscope the glazed ceramic would be much smoother.

I've gone through so many bowls, cheap & expensive & everywhere in between. I have yet to try a metal one that I want to use long-term, but this bowl might deserve a shot.

I recently got a Pereira Shavery unbreakble bowl, which apparently is highly polarizing, LOL. I mentioned in a thread at B&B that I got one and I got a few likes as well as almost-angry replies that the Pereira "is a rip-off!" Hobbyists getting mad over stuff like this is cute. Nothing will ever compare to the craziness of audiophiles, as far as I'm concerned, though my many car enthusiast friends would disagree, hahahaha.

Yeah JoeLr  people get bent about a lot of things. I figure if the copy calls it an “homage” to the other guy they’re good  Big Grin  There’s very little our theur that’s truly original. Like that lather bowl. It’s a bowl for lathering shaving soap. Like that’s never been done before. Now if he’d made a soap aerating and hydrating saucer maybe that would be original.

I have not tried DR Harris Bay Rum. The only DRH soap I have is Windsor. I love the scent of Windsor, but for me, the performance of the soap is only average, so I do not intend to purchase other scents.

I love Murphy and McNeil soaps (especially the Kodiak formula). However, I avoided Bad Mor due to the clove content. I am pretty sure it would irritate my skin.

I have such a bowl. She is very comfortable. Shape and dimensions are what you need.
This is a 30 mm SHD Maggard + Prometheus. The bowl is great even for these brush sizes.
