I know of no middle man.
List your razor.
Do not accept "email requests" PM's ONLY.
Take only PayPal Goods and Services.
This is a great forum to safely buy and sell.

Wow, quite the story in this thread.
I hope the ending has the fewest downsides. There is always risk in buying or selling items online, especially rare and expensive ones. I see threads similar on a guitar forum I frequent as well.
One suggestion for the future would be to email agree to split any non-recoverable costs like currency exchange losses (or gains I suppose).

I am working on a buyer/seller verification system with an engineering friend of mine (who is brilliant) that may be used when we switch over to the new forum software in a few months. if it's ready, it'll be mandatory to go through in order to use the bst system on DFS.

Interesting. I’m sure it’s something you can’t really speak on much yet so obviously no worries if you’re not able to comment, but is that something that would replace PayPal as the payment processor/middleman, or act in some capacity along with it?

I doubt DFS is setting up a rival to PayPal. Sounds like it may be some sort of a verification system

the system would just verify that the person is who they say they are, while being anonymous to DFS itself - meaning, my friend's system, if I understand it correctly, would just tell me if they pass the checks or not without passing any directly identifying information back to me.
I imagine his system would allow us to set whatever parameters we want to verify: name, address, phone number, photo id, etc..

Still I believe this move can act as a first line of defense.
