Do you have any plan to limit maximum number of threads in BST? Like 3 Max.
Sometimes, I am seeing duplicated threads or unarchived sold ones.

probably not.....the unarchived ones are the fault of our fellow members. if we'd all update the thread prefix to 'sold' or 'closed' once an item has been sold or found, then the bst section would remain cleaner. I do go through it every once in a while and clean it up.

do note though, the system is set up to automatically archive threads that are older than 90 days, I believe. should we shorten that up to maybe 30 or 60 days?

edited to add: I just went through and changed the thread prefix to sold or closed for about 10-15 threads so they get archived.

I personally don't forsee myself keeping a WTS thread open for 90 days. However, I can absolutely see the need to keep a WTB thread open. Take Alan's thread looking for a specific CG handle. That's a tough find. I would imagine he'd want it open for the whole 90.

Not sure what that tells you, unless you can specify different time frames. Or maybe it just means it's best at 90? I dunno, I never did have the right answer to much of anything.

I think the 90 days automatic archive is a good idea because too many people post something and then completely forget about it or walk away and you have to have something that cleans up the clutter. If someone's really adamant about finding something as Alan is they can always repost the new one for WTB.

Sorry, I thought the question was just about shortening.

+1 then... I agree we definitely need some sort of automatic cleanup. People do forget their posts. Especially after a bit of time passes and some items sell. The rest can easily linger and be forgotten.

I also agree with Dave, things can easily be reposted... Especially a WTB, which doesn't requite prices and pictures of a sale.

My apologies if I was skim reading and missed a question about shortening the 90 days. I hadn't seen that and very well could have missed it.

This is great for me. Now I'm thinking they both have a good reason to be on for a long time... Not just buyers.

With the bump rule keeping things 'metered' (is that the right word?!?), I think no matter how long they stay, it'll be a lot better in the threads.

Additionally, it might behoove Andrew to hold off on the time-change as a threat:

"If you don't start closing your BST threads, I'm going to shorten the timeframe to allow auto cleanup to fix your mess".

The ability to lock one's own thread is a welcome addition; something that was long overdue. Thank you, Andrew.
