I dislike razors that require a steep angle. I generally prefer shallow angle shaving, so the fact that they say steep is better is an immediate turnoff for me. I don’t mind mild and I don’t mind negative exposure.

Why would they use those pictures to advertise this razor if it's not the final version? Seems pretty stupid to me. I wouldn't pay $100 for a razor with "finishing" that looks like that.

Perhaps someone with the polished ones (with the defect) can attest to the quality. I think the polishing must really finish the product.

I suspect that rough edge can be rounded a bit during the finishing process. I'm curious what others think about the base plate. To me it is very clunky and an interesting choice when so many other new razors feature more streamlined designs.

I think if I was really interested in the razor I would send Phil an email about the pictures.

if I'm paying $225, I don't want to have to do any work to make it look 'better'. to me that looks like shoddy machining work....and I'm not a machinist!
