I have no intention of using 96% of other artisan soaps.
What draws me to Bufflehead, I will repeat, is that it does not include lanolin in the formula, which I can't use.
There are some other options that don't use lanolin. I know that B&M Latha line doesn't. Not sure what else off the top of my head.

Not many more than that. That's my point Smile

Someone mentioned the price per ounce so I'll add that j-mt mentioned a few months ago that he fills the tins at 4oz but conservatively labels them as 3.5oz to account for water loss during curing.

I did. Then its $6.75 /oz, Approx on par in price with LPL, XPEC, Castle Forbes, and a bit less than Klar. This is a high standard to meet, way above the routine $2.50 - $4/oz which seems about normal. And as far as I'll know, it's as good as XPEC or LPL, but I guess some will not know, and thats fine.

Out of curiosity, what are you getting for $2.50/oz shipped? Even $4/oz shipped is a good price for soap.

And therein lies the issue. It's hard to find time to make soap. But it's something I make time for because I enjoy it. I consider it quite an honor that so many would have something I've created as part of their den.

I think Bufflehead is great. But I also think it's one of a handful of great soaps from artisans that are doing this as a full time job. Patronize them. They work hard and honest on their products and they deserve your business. You won't hurt my feelings and it was never my intent to hurt yours.
Justin, thanks for chiming in on this thread. I know you have had to make the same clarifications more than once elsewhere.

It is clear to me that the soap you make is a much-loved product among many in the wet shaving community. I hope you can continue to share it within the limited resources you have, and one day I hope to get the chance to try it. All the best to you and Bufflehead!

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I wrote: there was no "spend so many $$ and shipping is free" option that the cost is $7.71/oz.

Go to Maggards or any reseller. Pick anything for $10. For example,

B&M latha is now $11. http://www.maggardrazors.com/product/bar...ving-soap/
TTFFC Bay rum is $10.50 http://www.maggardrazors.com/product/thr...oz-in-tin/

Superior shave prices include shipping for everything. Razorock stuff is 4.2 oz. Prices vary from $6 for 4.2 oz to $14, depending upon if you spend $60. Some are $10

Amazon 7 oz of Trumpers Violet is $15 shipped.  That $2.14/oz

Look around Amazon. They have great deals on some stuff far below msrp

Mystic waters is $14 shipped or $3.50/oz

So here are some popular "artisans", shipped per oz

Soap commander $2.50
WSP $2.96
Route 66 $3.70

We have become a society that expects free and shipping is part of that. Thank Amazon for that (and free pizza if not delivered in 20 mins)

I just wanted to point out that the quote in post #78 is not mine, I never wrote that. I looked back a little through the thread and didn't notice anyone having said that. Am I missing something?
