For boar you can’t go wrong with Semogue or Omega.

I have the omega 1049 with a red handle. It’s pretty big if you like that. Also the cheap $15 model that you can buy in the drug store is decent enough.

semogue I have the 1305 which is dyed to look like badger. Sort of. The Owners Club models are good and I also have models 2000, 1250 and 1470.

with boars pre soaking is important and they also improve over time as the bristles break in. I used a scuttle- dirty bird or a moss which both have a fairly coarse texture inside the lather bowl. I won’t use those scuttles with my good badger brushes but they seemed to accelerate the split end development / break on in the boars.

How inexpensive? The Semogue Owners Club boar is outstanding, IMO. There’s a vendor in Portugal who usually has it for under $30 ON eBay.

Go to https://damnfineshave.com/thread-want-to...-band-bulb

Read about the 2 shavemac's in that ad, if you want one PIF'ed let me know. They have issues but both are a good shave.
